I have a Land Rover Discovery with about a 20 to 25 gallon tank.

Inside the manual it does say to use either 90 or 92 octane. Most stations only have 92 though. And its an 03 model and I haven't had it a month yet so I'm still learning. By the way I'm only spending $30 more a month for the LR than I did an 02 Suzuki XL-7 and thats including the monthly payment and insurance so I would say I did pretty good considering it's a year yonger and about 20000 miles less on it.

I LOVE the Land Rover and will probably never be able to trade it in unless it's for another LR so getting a vehicle for better gas mileage is not an option. I'd car pool with my husband if I had to. I'm proud of it b/c it's the nicest vehicle I've ever had.

You need to use the fuel your owners manual calls for or you could damage the engine, worst case or suffer poor performance at the least. Additive are only when you have a specific purpose in mind like fuel injector cleaners. these are worth the money, but you only need to do this about 2 times a year or when you notice a decrease in gas mileage.

Most Additives are a waste of $$$ . And so is using Premium Gas- half the time. So try THIS; compare the mileage & the performance you get on a tankfull of Regular- AND then Premium- and see if there's any difference. If there ISN'T, -go with the Regular & use the $$$ you're saving for a vehicle that get better gas mileage. :)

I bottle of fuel cleaner at your oil change is sufficient. As far as premium gas, that is only needed if your vehicle calls for it. It will say it by the fuel gauge and inside the fuel filler door.

If you are taking a long trip on the highway, like 200 mile or more, it can hurt to run premium. The engine will run a little hotter and burn some of the carbon out.
