There are #2 Phillips screwdriver adjuster things that look like a bottle cap with teeth and a place to insert the screwdriver so the tip acts like a gear turning on the bottle cap gear. It would help to know what year the Altima was. Find a flat driveway where you can shine onto a wall. to find a center line mark the middle of the rear window and sight down the length of the car from behind. Mechanic would like to charge 1/2 hour 45 to 50 dollars many states still align headlights as part of the inspection. 12" down and 12" to the right at a distance. I prefer more level light pattern. 2002 and 2003 Altima has a recall on the headlights.

Shouldn't cost much to let someone who knows what there doing adjust them. 1 thing to look for though. If they are plastic and hazed over no adjustment will help. The haze on the plastic lens will cause the lights to look dim even when on bright and to look like the light is scattered all around instead of ahead of you. If this is the case sometimes they can be polished out. If hazed over really bad you will need new ones.

there should be a screw adjuster on the side of the head lights (one for each) by turning it one way or the other it should point the light housing up or down, best thing to do for quick fix is to park in-front of a wall or garage door about 25' away and adjust them then, this way you can get a general idea of where they are pointing while driving.
you should also get a repair manual from the auto parts store for your model/year Chilton's is a good one

Tap them with a sledgehammer, dead center of the glass.
Better still, use a center punch too
You don't need a pro, just put your back into it
Seriously,
park close to a wall , say 2 or 3 feet away, switch lights on and adjust at side with a screwdriver until they look right.

let the dealer adjust them as it really takes special gauges to do it right so your not blinding oncoming cars, I really have no idea what they will charge for that.

See if your owners manual has directions for adjustment.
Otherwise, John Paul's instruction is the way to do it.
