My husband insists that we set our thermostat at 62 degrees at night and 69 in the day. We have a split level ranch and he has keeps the lower level at 45 degrees. The heat turns on at 6 am and the boiler runs ALL days to get it up to 69 deg by 2pm. I t always feels colder than 69? It's 15 degrees outside, colder at night. He say's he doesn't feel cold, but he's at work all day while I'm at home with our 4 year old. I have trouble believing that we are saving that much money, but my husband insists he's right. How can I find out if we are truely making a difference in our bill?

I let my car warm up until the temperature is normal. When I turn on the heater (even after driving it for a while) it doesn't really blow warm air. I have an eclipse. I felt all the vents. The 3 right vents blow close to warm air but not really warm. The 2 on the left are usually cold or just temperature from outside. Also when I turn on the warm air for the windshield the same thing happens, the right side is kind of warm while the left side is temperature from outside or just normal but not warm. I do have coolant in the radiator and I had the thermostat changed last year.

These are for the lift arms of a FEL on a tractor. One of them is leaking at the seal between the ram and the cylinder. It's a two way cylinder. It's about 3' compressed and 6' extended. It's on a 1963 Allis Chalmers tractor I recently bought, so they are fairly old. There are no dents or scuffs on the ram. Where would I find the replacement seals, and how would I know what type to buy?

Here is my story. I really appreciate any inputs.
I brought my car to a shop for replace front & rear brakes and rotors, transmission fluid, front axle. Job was done, took my car back, but I had a new weird problem. The problem is all lights: dashboard, headlight, clock, radio, all go dimmer and back to normal repeatedly. Also I can feel the engine losing power like it's coughing everytime the lights do that. So I broght the car back to the shop. He is spending 2 days and not able to figure out cause. He said he checked the alternator, battery, they're fine. I told him it could be the one of sparkplugs dead, but he didn't think so. What could be the cause for my problem? If anyone has any suggestions to give me, I'd really appreciate it. Honda Passport 99, 4WD.

Is it a myth that if you use hot water to clear ice/frost from you car windscreen and windows it will crack the glass. I always use a jug of hot water to clear the windows and i've never had any problems. Has it actully ever happened to anyone you know?

I need to replace the rear struts on my 1992 Lumina. Is this hard to do? I know my rear struts do not have the big spring. I looked and saw the large nut in the trunk where it attaches and it looks like three bolts down by the wheel. Do you have any tips or suggestions. I priced the struts at the parts store and they were like $54. I got a quote from a repair shop and they quoted $500. So you can clearly see why I would prefer to do this myself. I have changed things like water pumps, timing belts and brakes myself, so im not afraid to try anything. Any tips, help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

the truck is a 1986 chevy s-10 and it has 14" tires it origanally had a 5-speed manual transmission in it then that went bad and the previous owner put a 4-speed in it and didn't change anything else and now the gearing is really off in 4th at like 3500 rpm i can barely get over 45 mph is there any way i can resolve this problem without changing the transmissionand if so what is the best ratio for this i might not get back to this before it expires so just e-mail me with ur answer please ken_steele2002@yahoo.com

today i was sitting in traffic and all the sudden all the lights in the control panel went on then after 5 second it went off this happened couple of times when the car was on...including the speed meter and gas meter they also went down to empty then up.....i turned off the car and then started it back on and everything looked normal but i dont have the same feeling about the engine....i think it makes a different sound, like a more aggressive sound......What could be the problem?
(someone suggested that there was a problem with the car's computer and i shouldn't worry about it)
car is a 2007 chrysler 300 with 20,000 miles on it
there is also a problem with the head light switch, its too sensitive when i touch it it goes on and off without me turning it on...
