These are for the lift arms of a FEL on a tractor. One of them is leaking at the seal between the ram and the cylinder. It's a two way cylinder. It's about 3' compressed and 6' extended. It's on a 1963 Allis Chalmers tractor I recently bought, so they are fairly old. There are no dents or scuffs on the ram. Where would I find the replacement seals, and how would I know what type to buy?

Look for a part of the cylinder with a stamped number. Write it down if you can read it, or at least what you can read as well as the manufacturer of the cylinder. At your parts store, this is all they will need to tell you if you can fix it and the parts for it or if it was built to be "sealed" and thrown away when it pops.

If it uses a regular rubber O ring, that's no problem to get parts for. If it used the old square seal, that'll have to come from Allis (Agco)

There should be either bolts holding the head in place or a screw in piece at the end of the cylinder where the shaft comes out. Once you get it apart, the rest is obvious.

If you live in a farming community, a local auto parts store may carry the items you need. I don't mean a place like AutoZone. I mean a local "mom and pop" place. If you do not live where they have these available off the shelf, contact the manufacturer of the tractor or "google" it. Good luck.
