It could be anything from a failing fuel pump, to a bad coil pack, to water in the gasoline! You may want to have the fuel injection serviced, and a tune up done.

I have a 94 GP with over 210,000 miles on it, and I trive it about 1000 miles a week. Your car is just starting to get broken in!

Your miles are ok. There 's plenty of life left and no offense Grand Prix sucks. I hate them. It might be the alternator. Try this. When you turn your car on and it's in park. unplug your cable to the postive side that runs to the battery. If it goes out then it's your alternator. You can get your battery check for free at checkers. Try that too. Also it might be the fuel pump usually that happens when the fuel pump is about to go out. Get a oil change, check your anti-freeze. And check the spark plugs. You have to change them if their misfiring. You can check most of this yourself. Save some money by not talking it in.

There are so many things that it could be, but my first guess would be the alternator. If your alternator is going bad, it can make your engine turn off. The battery would be my second guess. I suggest taking it to an auto parts store like Auto Zone or Advance and have them test it. Most stores like that will test your battery and alternator free of charge.

Love Pontiac Grand Prixs by the way.....good cars.

Actually just fixed one of these about a week ago. If I am understanding you correctly, you turn the key to start, it doesn't start, then you turn it off and back on and it starts. If that is correct, then is is your fuel pump relay or fuel pump itself. Try the relay first (it's cheaper).
