just what to know if some one could put something in your gas tank that would cause head gasket to go or crack the head or block? My truck only has 97,000 miles and is steaming out exhaust

The fuel from the tank has to go through the pump and strainer and then the filter. Yes, it would be possible but not very likely. Are you suspicious of someone or just trying to find an excuse?
Everything man makes will break or wear out. Some more quickly than others.

It's most likely it just happened because it has 97,000 miles on it.

97k is nothing.
Overheating is more likely to cause a cracked head.
