I'd say that you have a lifter that is slow to pump up. Pretty typical on a car with that mileage. Keep up with the oil and filter changes and it really shouldn't be a problem. If you check with the local auto parts store or the Chevy parts dept. they can probably sell you something to improve the lifter. I'd probably trust Chevy over the parts store. Bearing knock doesn't go away when the engine warms up, by the way, as the previous posters have said.

2000 chevy blazer engine ticking (knocking) noise??
I have a 2000 chevy blazer with around 150,000 miles and i have noticed when i start it up like in the mornings( to go to school) or after school in the evenings ( to come home) the engine makes a knocking/pinging sound for a few seconds and gets louder as i rev the engine but after about 15-20...

Probably one or more of the valve lifters is getting tired. First thing to check is the oil pressure. Second is the oil viscosity (too high?). If they are OK, the cheapest way to maybe fix a lazy valve lifter is to put Marvel Mystery Oil into the crankcase (without overfilling, of course) and run that for 20 minutes. Change the oil and filter and hope it's fixed. If not, You'll have to pull lifters, not a job for the inexperienced.

1 of three things
1-- the timing could be advance which causes a pinging or crakling sound when rev
2- the tappets which are worn or need adjustment
3-big end bearings on the crankshaft, which are worn which give you a knocking sound

Better get the rod and main bearings checked soon. If you catch it now it may save your motor. When it warms up the engine gets tighter because the metal is expanding.

the hydraulic lifter is bleeding down and is not holding the pressure it should to maintain the correct valve gap. You can have a mechanic isolate the problem lifter and replace.

I would remove the valve covers and check for worn rocker arms and adjustment.
