i've got some 1 inch exhaust pipes roted out the run from the catalytic converters back into the engine. The motor is a for V8 302.. the car is an 89 towncar cartier.. and autozone or carmax told me to go to a shop.. FORK that im a do it my selfer... I save thousands by doing in my self, and i would like to find those parts. thanks for any help.

So I'm about to change my own oil for the first time, and bought all the items I think I need. But I had a thought, the drain pan is more wide than it is tall, won't the used oil spill out when I take it to a service station? Also, should I put a plastic bag inside it so I won't have to clean it out later? Any help/advice? I'm hoping this goes as clean as possible. Thanks.

My husband says it's static cling because I don't have leather interior. It hurts, and I don't know how to avoid it. If there isn't anything that can be done, do I need to be concerned that it is harmful?

Actually, when I turned the car on, smoke came out from the alternator , and the belt broke. There was a little bit of antifreeze spill there. Could that have something to do with this?

My car cutting out and seems too "lugg" down at times when taking off or after slowing down then speeding back up, it idles rough as well. I recently had my alternator, plugs/plug wires and fuel filter changed. But, it still is running very rough. Also, it almost dies when I put it in reverse. What could be wrong? My check engine light is blinking off and on. It is a 1999 Altima.

I have a 92 osmoblie cutlas serria having two problems w/costs. (1) Harmonic Balancer (sits inside the larger pully the belts goes around, big and near bottom) needs to be replaced. (2) cattlier converter told it needs to be rewelded. went a few places but all claim cost 250-400 for labor and parts each.

I noticed car makers will say that a specific car needs regular fuel or premium fuel. Does it really matter? Is it going to hurt the car if I use reg. when it states premium? Premium is just soooo expensive!

I have a '94 Corolla and it was in great condition up until yesterday. It was trembling and shaking. It was even putt putting...lol. Seriously. I don't know what it could be. It felt like my car was about to shut off but it didn't. The check engine light is not on and this morning I drove my car 3 miles. When I parked my car, it smelled like burnt. But there was no smoke or any indication of what it could be. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I'm going to go have a mechanic look at it but since I'm a girl, I don't want to get played.

installed new vac pump new fuel filter all glow plugs working. could it be injector nozles.or injectors ? or would it be worth installing marine injectors at 40hp over stock injectors?

I live in Los Angeles and only have 37,000 miles on my car (Saab 9-3). Everytime I come in to get my break pads changed, they tell me I need new roters.
I've already changed them once.
Is it possible they're lying about having to change them again?
This seems a bit excessive to me.

Its definitely not a bulb... its both signals, and they went gradually, they will now each flick on for a second or two then go off. Could this be a fuse or something.....?

I need help/advice on what's wrong with my car ASAP!!!!

I was driving to school and everything was fine. Then, as I'm almost there, my battery light pops on and my steering wheel gets extremely tight and I can't hardly turn it.

I have only a minor leak in my coolant, and either my leak just went from bad to worse or there's something else horribly wrong with it.

Let's just say there is no way I'm getting home from school lol

When I turned my car off, it smelled like something was burning.

Please help!!!!!!!

I have a 2000 VW Beetle...it has recently started giving me problems and we are trying to figure out what we are dealing with. The car shuts off everytime I stop at a red light, stop sign, slow down to make a turn...etc. anytime im idoling. well when it shuts off, the battery is dead and has to be charged/jumped off to get the car on again. We assumed (because of the symptoms) that it was the battery...had the battery checked, it was very low, charged it...then the mechanic told me it was fine...it had gotten up to 12 volts. Well.....he told me maybe it was the alternator....checked the alternator....no problem there. So now the car wont crank at all....battery is dead. Anyone who knows about cars....is this a battery problem...or do you know of anything else that could be causing the battery to get so weak it wont even crank now. (I'm just curious as to what I'm dealing with as far as costs are concerned) Thanks!

I figured the clutch was going.. but it hasnt popped out at the topp when i let go it starts goin when i let the clutch go all the way at the bottom.. i think the gear box needs oil...

i have 94 mustang gt with the 5.0 ho engine.my guide and under hood sticker says my plug gap should be between .52 and .56,but the parts stores are telling me that its .42 and other mustang owners say they gap at .45. anyway so i gapped my plugs at .45 and car runs great but seems to be going through Alot of gas since i done this. could gapping my plugs at the .45 cause this?

Just wondering.
My car started making rattling noises. I dont know when it started because i just happened to hear it by chance when i had the windows rolled down. Ive checked similar answer on yahoo answers and on the web and most people are saying its the Cat Converter.

My cars under warranty, But i kind of feel bad about making the dealer pay for damage that happened on my time.
note: ( i feel kind of bad about it but thats not gonna make me pay for it myself. Thats what warranty's fer)
