Just wondering.
My car started making rattling noises. I dont know when it started because i just happened to hear it by chance when i had the windows rolled down. Ive checked similar answer on yahoo answers and on the web and most people are saying its the Cat Converter.

My cars under warranty, But i kind of feel bad about making the dealer pay for damage that happened on my time.
note: ( i feel kind of bad about it but thats not gonna make me pay for it myself. Thats what warranty's fer)

Thank YOu

The 'rattling' sound seems more like a loose heat shield or some part of the exhaust system making contact with the frame under the car.Converters don't rattle

If the car is still under warranty, your car must not be very old (from 2000 to newer). In the US, the car check engine light will be on if the cat is that bad (depend on how you drive the car, it may take a few days to a few weeks to make the check engine light to come on). If the check engine light is not on, it is something else. Don't try to fix it without first do a complete inspection of your exhaust, suspension, engine condition.

If the car is under warranty, take it to the dealer to be repaired. Trying to repair a cat convertor yourself may void the emissions warranty on your car and catalytic convertors are expensive. Also, the dealer is not paying for the repair. The manufacturer pays the dealer for warranty repairs.

Its pretty hard to diagnose a noise without hearing it. The convertor would probably cause a powere loss but anyway your dealer doesn't pay for warranty , quite the oppisite , they are reimbersed by the Motor company at a set rate. so you aren't putting them out at all.

Catalytic converter is a good guess but dont rule out anything until having it checked. It could be just loose heat shields that are way cheaper on you and the dealer.

Make of car would help but probably not catalic converter check tires first maybe sumthing stuck upthere in wheelwell area like something in shock area/ or on brake discs? paper.wood.rock who knows... jack it up take off wheels one at time? spin hear noise? check brake pads (broken) check wheel for foriegn objects in tread? open truck everything secure like spare jacks etc.. your exhaust system wouldn't make rattling noise it would louder if broken!!! check undr hood everthing thight!! like air filter battery hold down etc. then check doors themslves for loose sounds??/
