another question about our bayliner repairs... the gas gauge had not been working at all so they repaired it. since we picked the boat up from the shop we noticed the needle on gas gauge jumps constantly. we estimated the tank was approximately 3/4 full when we first brought it back.

we ran the boat for a couple of days then figured we needed gas- although the gauge would jump from full to 3/4 to half a tank. we had no idea how low we were. went to marina to fill it - it is a 23 gal. tank & it took 14.6 gals to fill it up. so it had less than half a tank when we filled up.

is it normal for a boat gas gauge to jump like this? if so - i guess we have to assume that the lowest reading on the gas gauge is always the truest reading? what do you think - is the gauge still broken or is this how boat gas gauges are supposed to work?

If the a/c is working properly what should be the temperature of the air coming out of the vents? And what factor play a role in duct temperature I've been having some problems with the a/c not blowing cool enough and am trying to narrow it down. Also does the temperature outside factor on the temperature the a/c can blow to or no? Thanks nick

I sprayed the termals of my car with WD40 and then it dawned on me how flammable it is ... can anyone tell me what (if anything) do I need to make sure a spark doesn't lead to a fire/ explosion? Corrosion is gone ... I cleaned it up as well as I could ...and the car statred without a prob. Am I worried for no reason -- or do I need to use something to clean the battery to avoid the big bang? Thanks!! Dan

It squeals once I get up to 20mph+ but when I start to brake the sound goes away. A couple of weeks ago it would happen for a few seconds but now it's constant. What do you think it is and how much am I going to spend?

Does the "automatic" refer to the car (standard or automatic) or the way the fluch is done? I got charged for this, but I have a manual transmission. I want to know what I'm talking about before I put up a fight. Thanks!

My 01 Altima runs great but when I have to stop for a red light or stop sign, it acts like it wants to cut off. Almost as if it isn't getting fuel to the engine. I had the plugs and plugwires changed but it didn't help. I have to put the car into neutral and have one foot on the brake and on the accelerator. I am thinking it could be the converter? I am scared to drive it much but I need my car! The check engine light is on and has been for a long time. I went to a mechanic about it (before this problem) and he stated the chip itself was bad. Would think have anything to do with it? Anyone have any suggestions?

Ok, last radiator flush question I promise.

I just flushed the radiator on my 94 Corolla by unhooking and draining the lower radiator hose. In the manual, it says that the cooling system capacity is 6.3 quarts, or just shy of a gallon and a half, but when I refilled the radiator with new coolant, I only used about 3/4 of a gallon. Am I missing something? I live in Minnesota, so I want to make sure I have the mix right, otherwise my whole cooling system might freeze on a cold day.

Thanks!

I just flushed out my radiator and put new coolant in, and after running it for a few minutes with the cap off, I see some white bubbles/cream type of color in my coolant. Should I be concerned, and anything I should do?

Thanks!

I've looked all over and feel like an idiot. Someone save my sanity and tell me there is no drain plug, lol. Seriously though, how can I drain the radiator before I remove it from the vehicle? Thanx.

Just recently, my car's transmission seems to be out of whack. The clutch won't make the car idle and therefore I can't shift gears. Now, if the car is off I can put the clutch and shift.

I was talking to my dad and he said it could be something with a synchronizer or pressure plate. I don't know jack about cars so this is all new to me.

Just looking for help to see if anyone can help pinpoint and maybe how much it costs to fix?

I have a '93 Ford Escort LX-E, but the guy I had bought it from put a Mazda engine in it, I don't know what one though (sorry)... that's about all the info to help describe I can give! Thanks in advance.
