When I send emails from my Blackberry in the car, it makes the low fuel light and the check engine light come on for a few seconds then they go back out again. This is a major problem for me because i am constantly emailing (I'm in sales) so the lights keep coming on, causing a big distraction while driving. How can i fix this problem?

I have a 2000 Ford Focus and the heat shield is hanging down and ratteling when the car idles. I have an appointment with the dealership to have it repaired. It's 69.99 to look at the car which goes towards repairs once they figure out what needs done. How much should I expect to pay to have the shield either repaired or completely replaced?

I have a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina that isn't worth much of anything but is in pretty good shape being that it's at the 100,000 mile mark. The only problem I have with it is that if I don't drive it every 8 hours like clock work, it won't start. I've replaced the battery several times but it always did the same thing 8 hours later. I've paid $900.00 to a mechanic that was able to fix a lot of the wiring from a previous accident but he doesn't even know why it does that. Any suggestions? I have another car as backup that is a 2007.

We just bought a 1985 Audi 5000 and we can't seem to get it to start. The starter for some reason won't turn over. We think it might be a problem in the neutral safety switch (its an automatic.) but we don't really know anything about that. We turn the key on and crossed the terminals on the starter selinoid and the starter turns but won't turn over the engine. I've heard that Audi's won't start unless it has a fully charged battery so that may be the problem, but it is charged enough to make all the lights in the dash light up and radio work so I'm not sure if thats true or not. I've never had an Audi so I'm kind of lost, we collect VW's so I thought it would be similar. So what could be going on here? Any ideas would be appreciated.

i have a 2001 astra dual fuel van 1.6 8v . in recent months a problem has developed, after much searching i can't find a solution any ideas.

The van runs well and then if i put the car in netural or stop the rev counter falls and goes to zero revs. this is kinda dangerous as i have no controll over when this happens. i have replaced the starter motor, plugs and leads but still no better, if anyone has any ideas please could they tell me as it is becoming a pain, also how do you adjust the throttle cable many thanks barry

it "rattles" when it idles and when it's in Drive. it's not as bad when it's in park. it's worse when it's cold. it kinda sounds like the engine is made entirely out of rattle (spray paint) cans.

it's a '98 subaru legacy outback
also has the "check engine" light on (but that came on long before the rattle)

Hello. Due to some scratches on my front and rear bumper, I've decided to do a paint job on my car. I've prepped it by sanding it and priming the areas, painting it with the base color, and clear coated it as well. However, it's not as shiny as the rest of the car; I thought the same shine would be achieved by the use of clear coat, but it seemed it didn't work. Does anybody know what I can do to get it as shiny as the rest of the car?

I have been going thru a very rough spot in life, lost my job and all that and because of this , I could not register my car for this year in April and my car insurance lapsed in July .I just got a temp job and getting ready to sort out this mess and on my way to work this morning, some one hit me from behind. It was a minor dent and broken tail lights so we did not call the police upon my suggestion coz I know my car situation would have put me behind bars.the guy agreed and he got my conatct info and I got his.Now I need to know how he can fix the car without being registerd or insured.he admitted fault but Im worried.the guy does not know about my car being unregistered and uninsured.

There aren't any manuals out there that instruct on how to remove it through the hood, just through the bottom. I've swapped motors and clutches in a 93 Nissan 240sx before, so I "sort of" know what I'm doing. Someone told me something from the suspension needs to be removed, the radiator, the plastic cowl piece below the windshield, and obviously the transmission. Does anything else need to be removed, and do any of these things need to be taken out some special way I'm not aware of (other than the lines attached to the motor)? I know the gas line needs to be de-pressurized before removing it, and drain all the coolant / oil obviously before disconnecting all those lines. Anything else?
