I have this car for 5 years now, last summer it was overheated and had to replace the head gaskets. After head gaskets replaced, I checked the compression pressures...facing engine, right side 165, 165, 160, 165...left side 160 165 165 90...the overheated side actually was the right rear side. It runs still. Do I have to correct this problem, if yes, how? What could be the cause? I did torque all the bolts to spec and in sequence. also adjust the valve clearances. The only thing I did not do was to re-surface the heads. This is a Chevy Small Block. Now, I removed A/C system all together since it caused overheated when used. Added a push fan in front of radiator, and the radiator is the same one for a Corvette.

My '95 Quest is starting to do that and I'm kind of worried. It's doesn't smell like gas and it doesn't look like coolant. It's just clear liquid. Is this normal for 175,000 miles?

My families Buick Century 2003 has an electrical problem. I can not read the mileage meter. Even when the sun is shining on it all I see is the 888... of the LEDs.

I know this is not a cheap repair. Should I bring it to the dealer or the garage where I trust the mechanics?

Why or why not.

The truck will start right up and run fine, but about 5 minutes later I can hardly pull away from a stop light, I have to rev it up and ride the clutch, once it reaches approx 1500 rpm it runs fine. I have changed plugs, wires, rotor button, cap, fuel filter, I ran a can of Sea Foam through it. I thought maybe it was the engine temp sensor, but everything I've read about them say the engine is hard to start when they fail. I don't want to start just shotgunning parts at it. I have been told it was anything from the idle air control, EGR Valve, Throttle position sensor, I don't know (obviously) any help would be greatly appreciated thanks, Rick

I have a 1998 oldsmobile Achieva LS and the valves are beginning to tick. The mileage on my car is 89,000 the oil is changed every 2,000 to 2,500 miles. I put one quart of synthetic oil to 4 quarts of high mileage oil. My monthly mileage for my job is 1,400 per month. So is there any thing I can do to prolong the use of this car.

So about 3 months ago, i went to canadian tire and did a lot of services as in oil change, transmisiion fluid change, etc etc and ofcourse, differential fluid change.

4 Days ago, the rear tires kept locking as i would turn and make screeching noises. I goto canadian tire and ask them to take a look...the lady came back to me and asked "Sir, have u recently changed ur differential fluid?" and i said that i dont remember....and then she said "maybe the last place u changed ur differential fluid put in the wrong oil and is causing this, but we dont know exactly whats wrong unless we open it up"

So they opened it up and turns out the gears are broken and metal pieces ar everywhere. Apparently, the POSI-CARRIER exploded and the metal pieces when between the gears and broke them.

Keep in mind candian tire had replaced the differential oil about 3 months back. the car has 98,000 kms. My question is, could putting the wrong oil gradually destroy the differential?

I got the problems down to three things, either the FUEL PUMP, the ALTERNATOR, or the BATTERY...

Help me figure which is probally the right one to fix first.

I was driving fine, then it ran rough, then the driving power would weaken. THEN it died - All happened in less than a minute when the truck ran rough. The electrical accessories died a second before the truck died. A few seconds after it died I started it back up just fine and drove it home smooth - This happened 2 days ago. Yesterday I started it, but it would stall, then it would start, but run rough, then die a couple seconds later.

So... it starts so I don't think its the battery, but it dies so it might be the alternator. BUT when all this first happened, it felt like the fuel pump died thats why it lost power and shut off. But the accessories died before the engine did.
SO, NOW, I'M CONFUSED.

Help me figure which it is. Thanks
I will run tests to see if my lights and horn work, etc. but im lazy :)
