I had decided to go with a new Civic but I also really like the Jetta. If there is a great difference I'll go with the Civic, if not the Jetta. Granted I've been driving a '93 Buick (V6) Centtury for the past 9 years. Thanks a bunch guys....(and gals)...

I would personally take the Honda.
Given the reliability of the two cars, parts and service price differences.
However, if you do it yourself you could eliminate that cost, do you want to have to work on it...
Gas millage depends on how you drive them, care for them.
I do believe the Honda can get better mileage.
But the cost of parts are hand in hand with $$$ per mile as well...

It say Civic because it better on gas and it more reliable and a unique car and way better than Jetta and the Civic looks like the future car not Jetta so go Civic and also one thing since you took the corolla out of your top choice I'll suggest you do that same for the Jetta because they both look alike on body style.

I agree with the guy above me......
I'd go with Honda. Even though VWs' are funner.
