Only if you have a high compression ratio engine that knocks when you do NOT use premium gasoline. Otherwise, it is a waste of money.

Actually, you can usually set the timing to avoid knocking even with non-premium gasoline but you are not operating a high-compression engine efficiently.

No.......if your car does not require Premium Gas..your throwing your money away...Premium Gas only prevents the engine from "Pinging"...(Prevents pre-ignition)

I don't care what ANYONE says, I put 200,000 miles on my GMC pickup using the cheapest REGULAR gas available, which is ARCO. When I sold it to my son, it was still running like new and had NEVER had any work done on it besides tune ups, and wear parts replaced.

no it wont add to the life of it any at all,it does cost more though,but as far as making the engine last any longer it wont,using regular is just as good ,and it saves you money sometimes,good luck with it.
