I'm guessing that the answer to this question is going to be a no, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to smooth out a 6 inch circumference area of paint on a car that has begun to bubble. The paint is only 9 months old, but I believe the man who painted it slapped it together quick and threw all sense of quality out the window. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I ask because my friend who was in the passenger seat saw me shift into 4th gear while I was only going 40 kilometers(dont know what it is is in miles, maybe 28 or so?). He made the comment that I'm going to ruin my transmission going to such a high gear with the speed that low. I do this normally just to watch my speed and to save gas, is this bad? Should I indeed shift when the RPMs hit around 3? Thanks in advance for everyones input.

The beginning of last month, the alternator in my '97 grand am went bad, so we got a new one and replaced it... Everything was fine until just today the battery light showed up again. Sure enough, the alternator we JUST bought is bad again. (Good thing we have the year warranty) But my question is.. Is there any reason why the alternator would go bad so quicky? Is there perhaps another problem in my car that is making it die? I would rather not have to replace the alternator again next month. It's quite the ordeal.

Hello,

I get a loud creaking that seems to come from the front of the car when i'm very slowly moving & turning, mainly full locking. It doesn't seem to do it when the engine is off & only does it when i'm reversing off my drive, which leads me to think it's only when the engine is cold.

It has power steering & it's been lowered 30mm on 15'' alloys. It's a MK4 Golf & recently had a service & passed it's MOT.
Had a look whilst the wheel was being turned & couldn't see anything scraping.

Where exactly will my power steering fluid be?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

hello...i have a 91 nissan sentra and i when i drive my e-brake light and battery light will come on simultaneously and sometimes flash super fast, each time making this sound as if it were sparking. when my headlights are on and this happens, my headlights dim and then get brighter and then return to normal once the two lights turn off. i think that the wire for the ebrake light and the wire from the batt light are crossed somewhere...but im not sure so im asking...Thanks in advance

I took my car to the shop because my "engine needs service" light came on. The repair guy later said that something was wrong with my "e valve." What IS that?

I have a 95 Pontiac Sunfire and the engine seems to overheat a little bit when I idle for a while (ie stuck in slow traffic). It cools down once I start moving again. Is this normal for an older car or is it something I should worry about?

I need to get my oil changed in my 2002 Grand Am, but when I bought the vehicle pre-owned, I did not receive an owners manual. Does anyone know what type of oil needs to be put into it? I'm getting the bottled oil change but I have no idea what kind to put in it. Thanks for your help!

Ok, I have a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I took it to the mechanic last week because it needed an oil change really badly. Once it was there, the mechanic called me and said that I had a big hole in my gas line. Long story short, we replaced it and I just got my car back on Friday. Saturday I took it to the car wash and it was smoking from under the hood. I figured it was oil burning off or something. I drove it a few more times very locally and it continued to smoke. This morning, I took my daughter to school 1/8 of a mile from my house and by the time I got there, it was smoking really badly. The thermostat is registering normally...what's going on? I can't afford to take it back and even if I could, the mechanic I took it to is 20 miles from my house and I'm not comfortable driving it that far. Any ideas would be SO greatly appreciated!

I have a peugeot 206 cc.
I have had some problems with it in the past.
But this new problem it says "Coolant Temp too high"
On the mini computer when I start the engine it has the Temp gage for the coolant is at the red zone and the oil Temp gets higher and lower all the time.
It has a stop sign and that is lit up and keeps flashing.
Also it's making a Noise the same Noise as when you have a door open or the boot open.

So my girlfriend and I had a fight while I was driving my car. I have an 07 model suv and she threw my automatic transmission from Drive into Park while I was going 55mph, because she wanted to get out. The car made a terrible noise and i slammed on the breaks. When I drive it now, there seems to be faint noises coming from the car, but its drivable. How badly damaged could it be and should I take it in to be serviced?

Okay this really isnt a registration question its a brake question. About 6 months ago my friend had their brakes changed. About 2 weeks ago she got her car inspected for registration.

Last night the bold that holds the calipar on came out and froze up the brake.

She was wondering who didnt tighten the bold. I said I dont know when they check brakes if they have to remove a bolt to look at them for inspection. Does anybody know?

I have a brand new truck. About two months after purchase, the brakes starting squeaking real loud. After I mentioned this to the dealer, I was told that the trucks are coming like that from the factory, that these new truck brakes are being made out of a new material. I was told there was nothing they could do. I said that's bull****, something needs to be done. My truck currently is in the shop for another reason and they told me they would look at the brakes. I know nothing will be done though. They just told me that to try and keep me quiet. What should I do to get my brakes fixed? Do I have a case if I need to take it further?
