I took my car to the shop because my "engine needs service" light came on. The repair guy later said that something was wrong with my "e valve." What IS that?

Ok, so apparently the repair guy said "evap valve." But yup, I don't really trust the guy so I'm taking my car somewhere else to get it fixed. Thanks for all the input!!

Never heard of such a thing. Chances are that he is using some sort of shop short-hand lingo. Or his personal jargon.
Chances are that the "E"-valve is either related to the evaporative emissions control system, or to the EGR valve which helps to control NOX emissions at the tail-pipe.
Ask for a clearer explanation, or go somewhere else where they respect you enough not to try to confuse you or obfuscate facts.

I presume its an exhaust valve the other is called intake valve.
That is where all the used mixture of gas and air comes out after its fired up by the spark plug and straight into your exhaust pipe.
But i don`t really know if cars do have light that lit if any of your valve is faulty.
He is not trying to have you on is it? Unless he meant something else.

Could be the ERG valve located in the exhaust system which returns unburned gasses to the engine to be burned.

Never heard of such a thing. Ask the repair guy, or better yet, get a second opinion from someone who will tell you what you need to do.

Probably part of evaporative emmisions control on car. Has to do with the fuel tank venting. Will not affect car's performance
