You have to remove the intake, valve covers and then you are down to the head. It unbolts. When installing the new one you'll have to have a new gasket and bolts. In fact just buy a whole head set from the auto parts store, it'll have everything in it. Also pick up a chilton's or Haynes manual while you are there. You'll need the diagrams, instructions and head bolt torque specs for reassembling the top half of the engine when you put the new head on.
Now if this all sounds like a bit much for you, a shop will do the job, with-out parts for about $500-800.

If you are planning to do it yourself, buy a Haynes or Chilton's repair manual from your local parts store and read it. It will have the step by step instructions and tightening specifications.

1) Remove old head.
2) Install new head.

Go buy a manual..........
