I need to get my oil changed in my 2002 Grand Am, but when I bought the vehicle pre-owned, I did not receive an owners manual. Does anyone know what type of oil needs to be put into it? I'm getting the bottled oil change but I have no idea what kind to put in it. Thanks for your help!

getting the bottled oil change...
I dont understand that part.

Are you doing it yourself? You need a filter too. Castrol GTX 10w40 will work just fine

I"m all for working on your own vehicle but sounds like you might just wanna take it to grease monkey...

Typically, 5W-30, but check in your owner's manual download link below. To be sure of getting the best oil and filter for your car, try your GM dealer's service center and ask them while your there. A synblend oil may be best for your car, so ask what that oil quality costs at your lube center.

Alright i can answer this for you, depends on where you live. If you live somewhere where it's warm, then you wanna use a 5w 30 or a 10w 30. It's also depends on if you have any oil leaks, if so, use a castrol higher mileage oil. If your car has under 75,000 miles you can use a synthetic oil which will help pertect your engine plus you may notice better gas mileage. Hope this helps

P.S Sometimes your oil fill cap will tell you.

I used 10W-30 during the summer and 5W-30 during the winter in my old Grand Am.
