Its fairly clean and my anti-freeze tester says its ok--sometimes I think its just a way to get more $ out of consumers. What do you think?

i would change it. after coolant is used in cars for long periods of time the molecular structure of the coolant breaks down and will not cool your engine as well as new coolant would.

hope that helped

to the guy up top dexcool cult haha

Don't think twice! Change it now or forever hold your peace when your engine is damaged. You can't really tell by testing or looking at the coolant. Simply change it every 2 years. The typical "antifreeze" tester only tests for the freeze or boil point and not whether the additives are depleted as I'm sure yours are.

Might as well. It might be fun if you do it yourself and you can sleep at night knowing your cooling system is clean as the day it was made. Also visually you can't know if the coolant is lubricating the water pump properly or keeping a high enough boiling point. It won't hurt to change it. it might hurt not to.

Actually these newer coolants have up to a five year life on them but if it's checking okay I'd leave it in for another year

Anti- freeze doesn't go bad--as long as you don't over delute it with water.
If it's testing OK temperature wise, add a can of waterpump lubricant/rust inhibitor from the parts store, and you're good to go....

I think it's time to change it. After 5 years it's not protecting your engine anymore.
