I'm considering installing a cold air intake system on my 02 Ford Focus w/ 2.0 sohc. I'm just trying to give this whimpy a-- engine a little more "umph", and maybe a bit better mpg. Is this conceivably possible with a short intake system, or a waste of $?

The dealer said the cv joints had just been changed. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it safe to be driving? This has been happening for the past couple of months. Thanks.

As if life couldn't get any worse for me..my car ('98 nissan sentra-about 155,000 miles on it) just started (bout an hr ago) making this constant and annoying grunting noise when driving. The only time it stops is when I take my foot off the gas. What could it be? I'm getting an oil change at 5 pm so I hope they will look at it..but what do you think? how much will I have to pay?

I have a 93 Pontiac Bonneville. Ever since yesterday morning, when I place the car in reverse to come out of the driveway, it doesn't stop! I don't know what is going on. But when i was driving throughout the day, it works fine! Then this morning as I was on my way to work, it did the SAME thing. It will keep rolling and when I apply my foot to the brakes, it won't stop. So what I did was hurried up and put it in park, and it stopped. But I have put the car in reverse yesterday and today after leaving home and I can brake with no problem. Have anyone experienced this before? Someone told me today that it could be my back brakes, but I am not sure, due to the fact that this happens to me only in the morning when backing up out of the driveway and not at any other time. Please help! Please, only serious answers.

Pulled in to the drive way last. Heard a rush of fluid, got out of the car and look on the ground and see Anti-freeze on the all over the ground. Filled the car with water. Checked the Hoses and did not find a broken hose, I looked under the car this morning and found that the leak was coming from a wire -mesh looking thingy under the car ( It runs from the engin to what looks like the exaust area)(metal pipe- wire mesh area about 12 inches - the metal pipe to what iam guessing is the exaust area) 1.what is the wire mesh thingy called. 2. Can i replace it easly and if not how much it is going to cost me.

I drive a 1990 Ford F-150. And I am having a noise problem. It is a manual transmission, Inline 6, 2WD. Whenever I am in gear and accelerating I hear a squeaking coming from either the rear or mid rear from below the truck. I can also hear it from in between the bed and the cab. When I am out of gear or not accelerating, I hear nothing. At first I was thinking throw-out bearings, but that would only sound if the clutch was engaged. I was then thinking my rear wheel bearings, but I am not sure if it is coming from the rear wheels. Is there any kind of bearings that connect the drive shaft to the transmission? Or any other ideas? I am stumped, and I dont want to start ripping my truck to pieces when I dont exactly know what it is. Thanks.

Whenever I engage 4WD by placing it in neutral and then moving the 4WD lever into 4Low and I begin to drive I hear a awful clicking noise coming from the front hubs. Also, if I jiggle the 4WD lever the 4x4 light comes on and off and I can hear a strange, almost electrical clicking noise coming from somewhere under the car. I checked all the fuses and what not..any ideas? Couldn't I just buy Warn hubs or how does that work with the lever-engaging 4WD system? Thanks guys!

It's a thin flat wire strip. When it is housed inside a fabric hem (as in a collapsible frisbee), it can collapse onto itself and if the wire is 3' long (as an example) at the onset, it could end up being only inches in diameter once it collapses. I need to find where to buy this kind of wire as soon as possible.

If lucas is supposed to thicken up the oil than why does my engine have a slight knock at idle? I'm using castrol 10w30 oil. I put in 1 quart lucas and 4 quarts oil. It used to just knock on a cold start but now it knocks all the time its not a bad knock but you can hear it from out side the car. The knock goes away after the engine revs higher than 2,000 RPM. should I change the oil and just use 10w30 oil?. The strange thing is that my oil pressure is a little bit higher and the engine hardly knocks from a cold start where as before it would knock for sevral seconds and it would be a little louder.

I let a nationally known car place put in a door blend motor in my '01 Mercury Sable LS, plus a new thermostat and a couple other items b/c when i would turn my air on and the temperature up then down, it wouldn't cool back down. I continue to take it back to the idiots that installed it, yet they can't seem to permanantly fix the issue.
