Hello, ok here is the deal. My car stinks. I dont know where it is coming from, I have checked every darn area of my car and trunk and there is a pungent funk that makes me gag. I dont know where it is coming from but maybe the rear of my car as it kinda seems stronger from the trunk.
Does anyone know where this smell could be coming from?

Ok, I think I was basically "talked into" buying an extended auto warranty. It's 7 yrs/100,000 Platinum Coverage with a $0 deductible. It's supposed to cover the engine, transmission, electrical, a/c, lots of stuff. It cost $1,560 and was added into the amount I financed.

I was thinking about canceling but the dealer probably would not be very helpful.

So, now that I have this warranty, do you think it's worth it anyway?

One bright spot is that in the event that I NEVER have to use this warranty, I get my $1500 back. Of course, that's after I pay interest on it! Still, it's something.

What do you all think? Did I make a bad deal?

I've been going to Express Tires to get my oil change, balance, and wheel alignment because I paid the life time membership there. I find that they are very disorganized and only want to make up things to repair.
How long does a wheel alignment take on average?
This one time I was watching them and it only took them 5 minutes to do my front and back wheel alignment.

Someone told me I should replace the radiator cap on my 2003 Impala, since it uses Dex Cool, and Dex Cool can turn into a sludge if it has contact with air. Apparently, the radiator caps that are originally on the car are no good... First question, should I replace the cap? Second, won't replacing the cap allow air into contact with the Dex Cool?

I have an 1986 VW Golf with a 5 speed stick and140,000 miles on it. I got in the car started it just fine, drove about 20ft, and then as I was leaving my drive way I went a little too slow for first gear (not that slow) the car lurched 3 times and died. I then tried to start it nothing happened, no click no sounds nothing. I was on a hill so I pushed it a little and bump started it just fine. I then drove the car to the supermarket (car ran great). When I tried to leave my car wouldn't start again, no sound no nothing. I tried to bump start it and nothing hapened so I had my friend come with jumper cables. With the jumps the car would start fine and run fine but as soon as we took off the jumpers the car would rev up and down really rough for a few seconds and then die. We tried three times and gave up. Anybody know the problem.

Has anyone ever used a flexiboot (The boots that you can slide over a cone onto the axle without dismantling the CV joint) on their CV joints? Are they worse or as good as the fitted CV boot?

Ok i have a 1999 camaro. I bought it back in november from a dealer as-is. Now grant it i know what simple wear and tear is. This is what i've done since i bought it. I have had the hood repainted, pulled the motor due to improper installation of plenum gasket, replaced a door hinge, replaced a door because it was cracked, we were told it was never in an accident and the one door was off of another camaro, all in all i'd say i have sunk well over $2000 into this. It was 3000 to begin with. Also we did all this to stop the problem of hard starting. This problem has stil;l not gone away. Now the engine backfires whebn i start it every once and a while. Is this normal for a vehicle with 92000 miles????

I recently wrecked my car (the bumper came off and some other minor damage was done) and the insurance adjuster said my car was a "total loss" and gave me money and my car back. What does a "total loss" mean? Is it just for insurance purposes?

I think that it would be fun to learn how to repair a car's engine, rather than take it to Dobbs or a place like that every time. If you could help me out a little bit, i would really appreicate it.

Ok, I have an 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula that I am trying to keep in good condition. We have a 2 car garage, but unfortunately my parents wont let me use it (even though we can technically fit a third car in there), so I'm forced to leave the Fiero outside. The car cover I picked up hasn't done ****, so I'm through with it. What else can I do to keep my car dry and out of the sun?

Do those metal roof things I see at Pep Boys and Menards work well?

My truck looses power, when i give it more gas to compinsate for the loss of speed it feels like it bogs down. It actually feels like it slows down. I then have to floor it until it shifts to passing gear and it is then that it starts to finally gain some speed. Also I have to let up on the gas before it will shift. I've changed the fuel filter.

They are advertised on TV for $25 each. These plugs claim to put out 1M watts of electricity, resulting in better fuel consumption and higher performance. Do you think this is a gimmick? Wouldn't something with that high electricity hasten damage to the pistons?

I was told the Vue has a timing chain not a belt. Never needs replaced. Spark plugs don't have to be changed until 100K miles too? Does this sound kosher to you guys? Any other American cars out there have the same or is this something new? Any websites give that kind of nitty gritty info?

I am going overseas for one year and quite not sure what to do with my car. I can either ask my friend to drive it once a week or store the car for a year. What is the best way to store a car and what are the details I need to know to properly take care of the car while I am gone? Thanks

I have a 97 Toyota Corolla. Last Saturday I took the battery to Sears for check-up (since I was not able to start the car) and they said battery needs replacement. I got a new Die Hard battery and installed myself. Double checked the connections. I was able to start the car after few attempts ( click sound). I drove the car for about 15 mins and parked in the garage. When I tried to start the car immediately after stopping, it won't start. It makes a humming noise under the hood and the click sound. The clock, windows, radio all work. Is my alternator gone bad. If so, why did the new battery die after driving for 15 mins? Also, is there was an alternate way to get the car started so that I can take it to the mechanic?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

My father-in-law's 1992 Chevy 1500 has an intermittent problem with the fuel pump on his truck. He had a problem with the fuel pump where it wouldn't prime, and it was in his driveway which was at an incline. His neighbor, who is a diesel mechanic, looked at it after they pushed it into the garage and it still wouldn't prime. They even took off the fuel filter to see if fuel was going through the line, but nothing was. He finally called me over to look at it, and I tried the same thing, but this time I unplugged the fuel pump, checked the connections and then plugged it back in. After that it was working fine, until he parked it in his driveway again. Then it did the same thing. He has a new fuel pump that I am going to put in, but it just sounds funny that this only happens on an incline and nowhere else. I am trying to find out if there is some other reason as to why this would happen. Maybe the fuel level sensor? But that is the only other thing I can think of. Any other ideas?
