how do i know if it's time for me to have my car tuned-up?

Consult your owners manual. In most modern vehicles the notion of a "tune-up" is quite different than cars from even 10 years ago. a tune up means spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and if it is a very old car points. if your gas mileage goes down it could be time for a tune up. if you open the hood at night and your spark plugs wires have sparks coming off of them you should get them replaced

it means that they change your spark plugs,spark plug wires,rotor,cap,air filter and you should know when your engine is shaking (misfiring)
