I think that it would be fun to learn how to repair a car's engine, rather than take it to Dobbs or a place like that every time. If you could help me out a little bit, i would really appreicate it.

This answer site is a realy good start. Haynes @ chilton manuals realy help and the hundreds of sites on the net are a real help. But I strongly recomend doing it. Finding your vehical at the local pickN"pull is a realy good way to learn where things go how to get em off and give you a pretty good Idea on how to put it on. I do it myself on all my auto repairs including body work and paint. My original attitude was that it was broken anyway so why dont I give it a go. Oh by the way it is a hell of a lot of fun.

So what are you going to do? I hope you're not planning on dragging your desktop 'puter out to the garage to see what you're doing or even try to put your laptop on the fender to watch, since I guarantee it will get dropped.

If you seriously want to know what makes an engine "tick" (and I don't mean the tappet or lifters), go to the book store and buy a copy of Chilton's Motor Manual. That will be a great reference point for amateurs and professionals alike who need some refreshing of their skills. Good luck!

Haynes also produce manuals. Try Pep Boys as well as Autozone, or whatever your local version is.
