I have a 93 Pontiac Bonneville. Ever since yesterday morning, when I place the car in reverse to come out of the driveway, it doesn't stop! I don't know what is going on. But when i was driving throughout the day, it works fine! Then this morning as I was on my way to work, it did the SAME thing. It will keep rolling and when I apply my foot to the brakes, it won't stop. So what I did was hurried up and put it in park, and it stopped. But I have put the car in reverse yesterday and today after leaving home and I can brake with no problem. Have anyone experienced this before? Someone told me today that it could be my back brakes, but I am not sure, due to the fact that this happens to me only in the morning when backing up out of the driveway and not at any other time. Please help! Please, only serious answers.

Did the brake pedal go all the way to the floor? You mentioned this only happens first thing in the morning and the remainder of the all is fine.
Most likely candidate is the brake master cylinder seals are drying out while the vehicle sits idle overnight. Once actuated all is good the remainder of the day.
Have a technician check it out when the problem occurs.

Possibly a small leak in your brake booster.

Tomorrow morning, start the car and let the car warm up for a minute before changing into reverse and see if it still occurs.

If so, the brake booster is probably the cause.

This could be a very serious problem so you should have it repaired N O W !

Think about not being able to stop as the school-bus in front of you is unloading kids.

It may be your master cylinder or your vacuum assist, but whatever it is please take it directly to a qualified service shop and have it repaired without delay.

Good luck.
