I have a 1991 Oldsmobile cutlass ciera with a six cylinder engine, and I think I need to replace the belt, when I was driving home today my car started squeeling when i accelerated or kept at a idle accelerated pace, but stopped when I slowed down, when i accelerated again.. it started squeeling again, what could it be? i think its my belt, but I dont know how much it would cost to replace it, help!

I have a '99 Acura Integra GS-R and am having problems with it. The car starts up intermittently, starts up more than it doesn't. When it does start up, if you push the gas pedal down too much, it bogs, and if you hold it down too far for too long it will die. When it dies, the intake will make a strange noise like its choking and trying to suck a lot of air. It idles fine, and if you push the gas pedal down slowly, RPM's will keep rising without issue. I have been working on it for a few days to see what it could be, I have new spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, o2 sensor, oil filter, oil, its full with gas, its not the intake, throttle body or tbs sensor, my distributor worked fine on another integra, the timing is right, it's not the cat, the check engine light is on, engine codes read trouble codes 22 and 67, according to the service manual, it means VTEC system malfunction and catalytic sytem efficiency below threshold. Any ideas of what it may be or other things to check?

My truck has a ball joint on the right front tire that needs to be fixed. Its been like that for a month since i'm still trying to find the funds to fix it. A couple days ago its started to pop really bad and creeks when I turn. I plan on fixing it within the next couple weeks. I'm curious what can happen if they don't get fixed?

The engine i am working on at present is a honda twin cylinder GX-610.Honda only seems to give out owner manuals but not repair manuals.I already downloaded the owners manual but these are only designed to help you maintain as far as oil changes etc.There has to be a site out there somewhere.Any help appreciated.

I'd just bought my first car the other night. I drove it about half way home from collection with no probs apart from a bit of a whirling noise, then all of a sudden the car just started to lose speed, it was revving but was losing drive. I had to pull over going up hill as I wasn't going to make it. My friend who I was following back home came and looked at it, it didn't want to get into gear. The clutch feels fine but it just wont get into gear. I've had two mechanics look at it. One thinks it's the clutch, the other the gearbox, both nightmare jobs I reckon. Anyone got any ideas on what it might have been? and whether the seller would have known it was about to die on me?

i have a 96 Nissan 200SX and i think my fuel pump might be bad. whenever i try to start it it tries but the engine doesnt turn over. i know its not my battery or alternator. my neighbor knows a little about cars and he tried to put some gas directly in the carb or something and it started up right away and stayed started for a few minutes. is my fuel pump bad??? if not what else could it be?

i have a 2000 monte carlo. i put some halogen lights on it and they were too hot for the plugs. they melted the socket and wires. now they dont work. what can i do temporarily to fix it? can i move the high beams into the hole where the low beams go?

I just bought a used car recently and at the time I didn't notice any smell. A couple of days later I started smelling cigarette smoke. Not me or anyone in my family smokes so i know it isn't anyone that smoked in my car. I have been spraying Fabreeze in the car but it hasn't taken the smell totaly away. Does anyone have a remedy for this? I love my car but hate the smell Help!!!

The car is a 2007 and still has a warranty. It was in the shop last week for the same problem and they said all that was wrong was it needed an oil change. I got the car back and less than a week later the same problem occurs. The car hesitates when I try to start it and sometimes you cannot start it at all even if you try for over a half hour. I am beginning to think the car is a lemon. It has never been in an accident, and I would like to know what could be wrong. It takes the dealership 2 days to get me a loaner car every time I have to get this thing towed in, so in the meantime I am stuck walking with 2 little kids and I am 8 months pregnant. Serious answers only, I am about to crack here.

When I accelerate, I get a chirping noise. Usually only during light acceleration - if I hit it hard, it doesn't seem to do it. As soon as I pull my foot off the accelerator, it goes away. I just had a serpentine belt replaced and that didn't make it go away. Mechanic is now saying it's a bad U-joint but that doesn't likely as it's not a clunking - it's a definite chirping (high pitched) HELP?

They said my timing belt is very worn out and I've actually already passed the 7yr(105K) mark and an immediate attention is required. They gave me an estimate and I'm wondering if this estimate is average for replacing a t-belt...

My car keeps shutting down randomly where I cant start it up w/o a jump start. One time I got it tested at Kragens and they said the battery and alternator were ok. While trying to start it up, the guy tapped my starter and it fired up. But sometimes it still shuts down and doesnt start w/o a jump start. I dont think its the starter because Jump starting the car doesnt have anything to do with the starter. Btw, the car is a 91 toyota camry. What could be the problem?

it turns over no start i spayed ether in the tunal no fire i took cap off rotor turns so timing belt not broke took plug wire off looks like no spark what do you think checked fuses an ether should have elimanated the fuel.
