You probably have a vacuum leak but depending on the vehicle will determine where. More than likely I would check to see if the EGR valve is stuck open. Otherwise you will have to track down the leak. Start will the vacuum booster on the fire wall and make sure it has a black rubber hose connected to it. Then follow it to the motor to see if it is connected there. Make sure there are no cracks or breaks in that line. If not then you will have to listen closely for a hissing sound to find where the leak is at.

The vacuum brake booster is located on the fire wall, under the hood directly above the steering column. The brake master cylinder is also attached to it. You should find a hose leading toward the engine from the booster. Either this hose is broken / disconnected or you have a leak elsewhere on the booster.

This problem is more than likely a vaccum leak going to the power brake booster which also will cause a very rough idle. The power booster may be defective or a vaccum hose is leaking. Hope this helps you out.

A large vacuum leak, especially at the brake booster itself

Park your car. Have it towed to a mechanic. Don't be out there driving with the rest of us with that thing until it is fixed.
