gasoline engines will not burn diesel fuel due to its very high flash point. diesel fuel is used in combustion pressure fired engines and gasoline is fired by an electrical spark. it will pass thru most injectors, as that is the way its delivered in diesel engines, but the low compression temps of gas engines will not be hot enough to burn it. lets just hope they invent bio-gasoline soon.

Bio-diesel or regular diesel is commonly called "fuel oil" and for good reason. It is lightly refined crude oil and is very oily and much denser than gasoline and does not evaporate quickly and has a flashpoint of around 160F verses galsoline having a flash point of -50F (50 below zero farenheit).
Diesel is a very filthy fuel and is full of all kinds of nasty stuff like plastic resins and tars and sulfur and all of the other stuff gasoline has like benzene and napthalene and xylene and all those other wicked concoctions. Diesel fuel is as close to a burning raw crude oil as it gets.
It does not combust like gasoline and is denser which means it is actually heavier and has more kick ounce for ounce giviing it more power during the duration of the combustion stroke.
A typical diesel engine is heavier and the cylinder head is more massive much like a high performance gasoline engine like a Chevy 454 or a Hemi 350.
The diesel fuel is initially warmed to combustion temperature by a glow plug inside the cylinder head. Once the diesel ignites the next cycle is iginited by the hot gases of the last cycle. There is no spark plug and the glow plug shuts off as soon as there is ignition. The fuel is sucked into a pump that looks like a small engine with small cylinders in it and then is forced under pressure through copper or steel lines into the engine though a different kind of fuel injector. Most newer injection systems (gasoline and diesel) shoot the fuel into the combustion chamber so that the fuel does not pass the intake valve. This makes the fine fuel spray combust much more efficiently.
Anyway, don't throw any diesel into a gasoline motor or you'll have a mess on your hands.
Good Luck!

? likely not good. I have been told gas engine will run but I would not count on it . When used in a diesel it is very cleansing you have to change fuel filter the first few times u use it. also takes different fuel hoses. Look into it. Gas is not that expensive. Bio diesel is more expensive ? If your thinking about being green (environmentally nice) try walking when ever possible, public transit and keep your car in good running order.

Go ahead, put it in. Then tow it to the shop and tell them you were stupid and put diesel in the gas tank.
If you do get it started, some one will call the fire dept on you because of all the smoke.
Gas in gas engine. Diesel in Diesel engines. What is so hard about that.

The engine will not run on bio diesel. But why would you want it to? While it sounds good to use soy products to power your vehicle. What do you think will happen to the price of soy products when more people want bio diesel? Add ethanol to gasoline and corn prices go up while miles per gallon go down. Since the ethanol has been blended (15%) into the gas I use my gas mileage has dropped 10%.

A gas engine will not start on bio diesel or diesel fuel. Diesel fuel has to have high compression to ignite the fuel. All it will do is smoke and not start.

Diesel is just that bio Diesel is mostly oil, and gas is a much higher octon.
If you put bio diesel in you gas car, throw the car away as it will not run and the engine is now tost.

Help no.
Wish I knew why you asked this, as gasoline cars can not run on diesel, Bio or not.

uh first off i dont think it would even start because diesel needs high compression to ignite and it would definatly screw your car over so i wouldnt suggest trying to find out
