And why would you be doing this? I would say charges, yes, if you're caught trying to taking gas out of someone else's car.

Do mean a siphon hose to take gas OUT of the tank, or a gas station hose, to put gas INTO the tank? If the latter, and you say it just "broke off", how do you mean? Where you hold it, or at the top of the pump? Did you try to stretch it too far, pulling on it, or did it just fall apart? Without the specifics, it's hard to say. You could be liable, or it could have broken due to age and hardening of the hose, but since you gave no details, it's impossible to say. Some people drive off with the hose in their tank, many stations have a break-away hose that is designed to do that. It may be easily replaceable, don't know.

Never heard of such a thing but i would say no. It would have to be a defective hose. Unless of course you left it in the fill spout and drove off ?
