I let a nationally known car place put in a door blend motor in my '01 Mercury Sable LS, plus a new thermostat and a couple other items b/c when i would turn my air on and the temperature up then down, it wouldn't cool back down. I continue to take it back to the idiots that installed it, yet they can't seem to permanantly fix the issue.

The engine temp has nothing to do with a blend door motor which is usually vacuum operated and regulates the hot or cold air going through the ac/heater ducts or changing which ducts get the airflow. From your description, it sounds like it could also be the compressor is cycling too much and not giving you constant cold ac air---could be low on freon or have an ac leak. If the ac system is cycling ok, then possibly the blend door is not getting constant vacuum, it would shut off the cold air inside the car or vary between cold and warm depending on the vacuum level to the blend motor....would be from a vaccum leak in the hoses running to it from the engine or vacuum reserve tank....could also be a bad check valve in the vacuum line which would cause the blend door motors to lose pressure at high acceleration. Maybe try another ac shop or two for another opinion.
