I am sure that I need my transmission repaired. I believe I threw the synchros out of whack, and ground them to knubs. Can anyone tell me how much it would cost to repair with $89/hour labor, plus parts! Thanks!

I drive a 96 tacoma 4x4 with an 8000 lb warn winch built in the front bumper. I had problems in the past with the winch but replaced a solenoid and it worked but about 3 months later it isnt working again. The cable will only come out on free spoil and when i try to crank it out with the remote it makes a clicking sound. do i need to replace the other solenoids as well or is it a different problem?

i have a 1998 nissan sentra. i just replaced the ac compressor and the receiver dryer.
the compressor was making a loud knocking noise, that is why i replaced it.
before i changed it out my ac would blow pretty cold when i was driving but as soon as i stopped at a light it would stop blowing cold.
after i replaced it the ac blew very cold for a week or two and now it gets warm when i stop the car again.
i put about 16 ounces of synthetic freon in it when i changed the compressor.
i paid a lot more for the synthetic because it is supposed to blow 20% cooler than the regular freon.
i think the recommended is 19 oz so i may need to add a little more. or maybe i need to replace the condensor?

my question is, why does my ac stop blowing cold when im not giving my car gas?!?!

i live in Phoenix AZ. it is 116 degrees everyday, no exaggeration. so this really sucks.

I have a 1998 Honda Accord that doesn't turn over..I checked to see all interior lights, radio, etc. were not inadvertantly left on, then got the car started via a jump. I left it overnight, tried to start it the following morning and again won't turn over. Any way to determine if this is an alternator problem vs battery problem?

I drive a 2003 Mini Cooper and it's starting to act really wierd. The air conditioner is cooling off completly and at first I thought it was just because it's extreamly hot outside...we have been lingering around the 100's the past few weeks.

Now however, I am not getting the gas milage I should be. I can usually go just over 300 miles per gallon, but today my gas light came on at 245 miles. Last week it came on at 250.

My car also feels like it is lagging when I am trying to accelorate. It seems like it just isn't wanting to go.

I had an oil change the first of June, so I really don't think it could be that. Could it be my raidator?

I have a 2002 Grand Am with factory ordered rims, not hubcaps. About how much air should be in the front and back tires? I'm asking because I noticed my back tire was leaking the other day, but this was because I had a missing valve cap. Any ideas on how many pounds of air should be in them? Thanks!

I'm afraid when I drive it with the top down it may or may not go back up because the car is so old (i bought it used). How long do those motors last? If it goes, can I put the top up manually and how much would it cost to fix the motor?

Also, the top has two rips in the back by the back window where the top goes down, how much to repair or replace the top?

My mother went into the dealership where she purchased car three months ago for an oil change. the car had 32700 miles on it, and now has 35180. they recommended getting her fuel induction system cleaned without telling her it was going to be $120, also they did a wheel ailgment for 60 some dollars. her bill came to $268 which she paid. I called up complaining they ripped her off due to she just purchased car three months ago and she's only put on 2000 miles. I told them i'd call the state and they gave back 120 of the money. anyway my question is now that i recieved t he money should I still contact the state? I just feel like if someone purchased a car 3 months and 2000 miles later (from the same dealership) they shouldnt have to be getting any "recommended" stuff done already, I know my mother could have just said no, but i'm sure theres many of older people that just get talked into spending more money . this is a certified used vehicle.

I have been driving my older car. Yes, it's from 1981. I have noticed that when I press the brakes, the pedal is very spongy. I drove the car yesterday and it stops but it takes more time and effort. I was at a stoplight yesterday and I had the brake pedal pressed. All of the sudden, it felt as if it lost pressure. The brake pedal continued to move to the floor and the car began to move again. I then let off of the pedal and pressed it again to build up pressure. The car stopped. What can be wrong? I changed the back brake cylinders a few months ago. Any help is greatly appreciated!
