I drive a 96 tacoma 4x4 with an 8000 lb warn winch built in the front bumper. I had problems in the past with the winch but replaced a solenoid and it worked but about 3 months later it isnt working again. The cable will only come out on free spoil and when i try to crank it out with the remote it makes a clicking sound. do i need to replace the other solenoids as well or is it a different problem?

If you are replacing the solenoid try using a marine water proof heavy duty cost more but not as much a 2 of the ones your using.Sound like the sol===is light duty and the 800 uses a lot of amps burns the contacts an sol only clicks.

it may just be a bad connection but it sounds like you'll probably have to replace the solenoid. I would recommend you operate the winch for a few minutes at least once a month. this will help keep things from going bad due to non use
