Could be a possibility of a few things.... Engine or transmission Oil, or even steam from a cracked coolant line.

What does it smell like. Radiator fluid will have a sweet smell to it. Oil will have more of a Bluish color vs white.

Could be as simple as a cracked hose or oil pan gasket or as critical as a cracked engine block.

Try taking it to a do-it-yourself car wash and wash your engine from top to bottom to get any caked on grease off the engine. Then you might be able to find where the oil or whatever is burning is coming from.

Real good chance that it could be radiator fluid - Let the engine cool down and check the radiator fluid level. If low, then a good possibiltiy that thats it. If not, then back to checking the oil pan or possiblitiy of a cracked block.

White smoke probably means your oil is low. That's bad. Check the level. If its low, WALK to wal-mart or an auto store and get a quart or two. Add the oil, then drive the car to someplace to have the oil changed.

did you get a oil change lately? it could be something as simple as oil leaking on to the engine which will cause smoke to appear. if so go back and have them check for any errors and insist that they properly clean any oil under the car.
