i have spark getting gas just wont start.i put gas down the head still wont even sputter. looked at the rings and piston seems fine its giving anywhere from 40-60pis for compression.

the majority of chainsaws have an electronic ignition. you can get fuel and fire but they will not run. take it to a shop and they can have it running in no time.

i hate two cycle engines, be sure you have an appropriate spark plug gap, and the persoally i woudl say take it to a shop. thats all assuming you drained all passible bad gas out of it.

try a new plug. also check to make sure its the right plug.It may not be "hot" enough. Gas, compresson, spark, air.
Check to make sure it's getting air with that gas.

mine was 10 years old and just crapped out.
maybe time to replace.
At the price to purchase new now worth repairs.
