A 2004 Ford Focus. I turn the key, and absolutely nothing happens, except a bunch of lights come on on my dash (engine, oil, battery... about all of 'em). Figured the battery was dead, but a jump didn't work, and the light is green on the battery, indicating it's good. Also, lights and radio work fine. What else could it be?

I own a 1999 Ford Focus 1.8 petrol Ghia and just have a few questions about the air conditioning system:
1) Although the manual with the car does not mention servicing the air conditioning (I bought the car with 2 previous owners and have no evidence that any has been done), should I consider doing it now and how much would it cost?
2) How long roughly should the compressor, condenser, receiver dryer and evaporator last for (miles or years) ? many thanks.

Ok...I checked all the fluids in my car except transmission...I will do that this afternoon. Anyway, all were full and seemed to be fine. I will say the coolant looked to be low...but not sure where it should be to be honest. I did check it again from the level it was at and it seemed to stay consistent. My car did leak again...after driving it. It did have a small leak after it was sitting in the driveway before driving it. Doesn't appear to have been leaking overnight today though. Ok...the puddles did evaporate. There seemed to be no color to the leak. I have NOT used my AC. Not at all this summer. Now...stupid me did spill a bit of coolant when I opened it on the ground. I was getting it ready to fill because it appeared low...but then didn't know how much so changed my mind...anyway...it is Peak concentrate...it had a color in the bottle but once it hit concrete it appeared to not have a color. I thought it was supposed to? So, it could stil be a coolant leak?

I have used all major oil brands (Mobil, Pennzoil, Quaker State, etc.), last one being Shell, and even up until 3k oil change, the oil isn't all that darker than when I put it in. I've got 121,000 miles. Is this normal?

I had to rewire my ignition system and my new coil says I have to use a resistor. Where do I wire the resistor and what is it for? I started the motor without having a resistor and it ran fine but the coil did get a little hot. I tried wiring a new resistor in-line with the power wire, but it dropped my voltage at the coil to 8.28 volts. I did not try to start it this way because I figured it wouldn't even run. It is a points-type Delco-Remy distributor. Thanks.

I was thinking about plugging it like i normal would do a car tire but curious if i can since i was told they are different type of tires. My local motorcycle shop said they didnt repair tires causing me to think that theres something behind it and I dont want to buy another tire since its already new. If i cant plug it then what else are my options besides buying a new tire. Any helpful advice will be truly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I was told by a mechanic when the battery light comes on, it means theres a problem with the alternator and not so much the battery itself, thats what happen right before my car lost its power and died out.

The battery light came on and my headlights started to dim, radio, power doors, and sunroof just faded away.

I tried jumping the car but it wont hold a charge. The car has absolutely no power, I just want to make sure it IS the alternator and not something as simple as a bad connection before i take it to a mechanic.

Thanks for the help.

BTW, i have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, and the battery is about 5 months old, but i was told (by non mechanics) it could be defective battery or the connections are bad.

On my 1998 BMW M3 evolution coupe (e36) all of the indicators, (left, right & hazards) have stopped working

Looked at the fuse box & pulled out what I think is known as the flasher unit, and put it back in, they then started working again for a day, then this morning they have stopped working again......

Anyone with expertise in this area suggest if this is the cause (new flasher unit needed) or help in any way

thanks in advance

Do you take it to a wash place? machine? or hand wash at car wash places? or do it yourself?

what's the benefits or negativeness of the three?

I hear continous washing at the machines will damage or give small scratches to the car.

I'm looking for the interior door panels (blue) and some misc dash trim for a 97 t-bird. Just got it for my sister, but I need it to look nice inside and out, but obviously you can't get these things from O'riellys, and the dealer only has parts pack to 1998. In the past I've used LMCtruck.com for my classic truck parts, is there a website like this for ford cars?
