Do you take it to a wash place? machine? or hand wash at car wash places? or do it yourself?

what's the benefits or negativeness of the three?

I hear continous washing at the machines will damage or give small scratches to the car.

In my driveway. I do it myself, since that gives me the chance to go over the car and look for any knicks or scratches in the paint. Plus it is done to my satisfaction. I have no one to blame if there is dirt on the car other than myself. I like it that way. good luck.

It is cheaper too.

Hands down, the best way is at home with the hose with no nozzle or soaps etc.
Just running water out of a hose and a towel.
I have a hose with the threaded end cut off as not to scratch the paint by hitting the hose against it while washing!
There's some decent 'car wash' products out now that wont strip wax off but if you wax the car once or twice a year, you need nothing but water....period.
Sometimes you may need the occasional bug and tar remover.

Car wash's with big brushes put fine scratches in the paint.
Touchless car washes never really get the dirt off and the high water pressure can make small paint chips into bigger ones. To me, there is no such thing as a 'touchless' car care product. It's all 'hands on'.

There's simply no replacement for doing it at home. You have to rub the car with a soft rag and running water doing 1 panel at a time starting with the roof and working down to the rocker panels.(the bottom of the body below the doors)

Vacuum first. Then do the inside of the windows and the rest of the interior. Then the body. Then the wheels and tires.

I'm guilty of the machine washes in a pinch or during the dead of winter just to get the salt off on my other cars but..........

At my house. Mainly because I'm too cheap to give the car wash $8- $10 for water when it's cheaper at home.

MY HOUSE. I'm not a big fan of the machine washers anyhow, only lazy people use them. Pressure washers are good to use too.
