Hi there, my corsa 1.2 8v is using excessive fuel. It's a 1998 model. I posted on here last night however i have had further checks on it today.
It definately isn't the head gasket as it has had a compression test, it's not the spark plugs or ht's as they have been replaced and checked. The car is still firing on 3 cylinders and is very tappy the engine. The garage told me that one of the holes on one of the tappets could be blocked as the oil was solid and gungy when i got the car. Does any body know how to unblock these? I was just going to take the rocker cover off and unblock and clean it, however the machanic said that i would have to take the head off? What do you clean inner engine parts with?

this car has been overheating intermitently, usually at an idle, when It gets moving goes back to normal op temp. See no visible leaks loss of fluid, oil or exhaust shows no sign of coolant, no much if any coolant prob one.

prob two- car died loss of power, lights everything fine, restarted car, ran 10 miles, died again, keep foot on gas peddle would stay running, got home checked fuel pressure 40 psi, had spark at all cylinders, would start with starting fluid. next day check codes none, started, died at first when put foot on gas peddle happened several times, finally after let it build up ran fine, and could rev up fine did this turning off and on about 5 times. any ideas this is my dads car and he doesn't have the money to throw parts at it. I appreciate any and all help. I have more defined definition but this only lets me say 1000 words. thanks ahead of time

on my 72 f100 my exhaust is away from the manifold. it looks as if the bolt is still intact but i cant get it to turn and i am afraid that im goin to break it. any suggestions?

I tryed using cillcone stuff and JB weld but nothing yet i just need a temp. fix until i can get enough money to buy a new one.

My van, a Mitsubishi 2.5L Diesel engine, has just went over the 80,000 kms mark in the odometer reading. My mechanic says that the timing belt should be changed. He says that by not doing so, the other mechanical whatnots in the engine may be affected. Why so?

i have a pontiac grand am and my car just started cutting off on me while im driving .if I let the car sit for a awhile it'll start up and drive for a little while and cut off the battery works good .and the car shakes when i try to start it up and cuts back off .could this be the fuel injection

I drive a 2000 Mazda 626 and lately, the engine has been idling eratically whenever it's in drive or in reverse. When pushing down on the peddle, it revs roughly until I get to about 50mph. It was doing this a few months ago and replaced the sparkplugs and then it was smooth until recently, again. In fact, now, it's worse than before...if not the sparkplug wires, is there anything else it could be?

My car runs, but the ignition is broken. Meaning I can stick my key into the ignition but it wont turn at all, wont budge. So I am going to hotwire it, and I know how to, But I dont know how to shut the car off after I am done. Could you help me please? Haha, and no i'm not a criminal, sheesh. Thanks for any help :)

Its not my shocks...but when I go over a pothole or something like it...it sounds like something is loose. I had this problem on another GMC...a 1992 cutlass. I recall that it didn't cost much to fix, but if I can do it myself I will.

I have A 1972 Pontiac luxury le mans car that has 71,000 original miles on it, and i just bought it 5 days agao from a guy who owns a auto body shop. He had it in car shows because he has done so much work to it. it has a 350 v8 engine and its an automatic. Today I drove it keeping it under 55mph and when i drove into town, it started to cut off at stoplights or when i have to slow done below 10mph or so. Its not smoking or smelling funny. It was low on coolant so i took it to a mechanic and he helped me add coolant. tyen it sat for 6 hours while i as at work and then I started the engine and it basically did the same thing. What could this be? Jill

The key can not move, the shift can not move, the break is very hard...this happened two times before, and once the break can be stepped down then the key could move and the car started...but the break can not always be stepped down, like this time. The car is completely locked!!! Please help ASAP!!! Thank you so much!!

I replaced the camshaft in my 87 corvette and timed the cam gear in the 6 oclock postion and the crank in the 12 oclock position. After putting the distributor in i noticed the number one rotor position is off by about 90 degrees while at TDC. This concerned me so i checked the manual and it says to time both gears in the 12 oclock position. I feel like i found the correct TDC now with the rotor pointing to my new number one spark plug wire but am waiting to start it because of the initial error in the timing. Can i get away with leaving the timing the way it is as long as i make the new firing order by repositioning the spark plug wires? Will the valves bend or will the valvetrain follow the correct path? By initially being 180 degrees off i think if i turned the crank 360 they would both be at the 12 oclock postition and my new TDC.

I replaced the high and low beam bulbs once they became dim but the new bulbs are just as dim. Going on a roadtrip and need to be able to see at nite, any help would be great. thanks in advance.

whenever i ride my pocket bike it turns off in the middle of the ride. the engine just shuts off and i have to turn it on again. i dont know if this is normal or not but it doesnt seem like it. i have a XP-490 Cat Eyes Super Bike with 49CC engine. i changed the old gas that was in it when i got it but it only runs better. it still shuts off for some reason. does anyoe have any idea how to make this stop becuz it is very annoying now. someone please have somethinhg true and right cuz i dont want to break my bike.

What does it mean to spin a bearing? I'm familiar with the location of these bearings and their function, as well as some of the causes and effects of a spun bearing. I just...don't know what it actually is.

I have an 84 Corvette that seems to run fine when cold but when it reaches operating temperature it runs rough and loses power. It was just rebuilt and may have had the problem before but it was always oil fouling plugs then. I have no ECM codes set and already replaced the ignition coil. I double checked the valve adjustment also. Any ideas?
