I have a 1998 corsa 1.2 8v and it is using lots of fuel. I get just over 50 miles to £10 and i really don't know what it is? I think that it might be firing on 3 cylinders as it sounds like it is chugging when you stand near the exhaust at the back. It also had some gunge on the oil cap however it doesn't use any water and never overheats. It sometimes has trouble starting up, the engine fires but dies and if you try and rev it it doesn't respond. The car has only covered 67,000 miles. I have just changed the spark plugs and oil. Could somebody please give me some advice, thankyou

It just got warm out so I went to use my A/C for the first time (2003 chevy cavalier, btw) and it's definitely not blowing cool air. It actually seems to blow whatever temperature it is outside into my vehicle (this morning it was cooler, maybe 60 and I tried it and the air was "cool" but definitely not the chilly a/c air that it's supposed to be). When it's 80, it feels like hot air coming through. Someone told me I could be low on freon (sp?) and I saw a DIY a/c kit at Auto Zone for about $25.00. Should I take it to the shop or give the self-treatment a go? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It recently snowed and when i went to open my trunk, the snow from the back window fell into my trunk. I tried to scoop out as much as i could but my hand were getting too cold, so the trunk was left with a light lining of snow. Will this create mold in my trunk? what should i do to get rid of it?

Hi, I have a question regarding my 1997 Honda Prelude... The car has ~168k miles on it... The check engine light came on in 10/06 and I had it checked - it was EGR fluid insufficient flow.

The small independent shop recommended that I change my EGR valve. We changed it and the check engine light went off for a week, then it came back on. I went back to the shop and they think that the EGR valve might be defective, therefore they replaced it. However, the check engine light remains on since then. I lost faith in the shop and went out of money, therefore I let the check engine light on as it is since early this year.

At my recent oil change, the technician noticed that there's oil at the back of my engine, therefore suggested that my head gasket might have a leak. I have some money now but my budget is tight.

I would like to know what u think my prelude's check engine light is indicating, thus saving me money by not falling into anymore wrong diagnostics. Also, dealership?

Hello everyone, I have a '97 Camry V4 2.2 (love the gas mileage, :) ). Last week when starting it, I would turn the key, get one click, and then nothing (no turning of the motor). Now this doesn't happen every time I go to start it, it may be in the morning or could be in the afternoon, both, or neither. I may have to try two or three times to start it, turn key, click, nothing, turn key, click, nothing, turn key, no click, engine turns over and starts. The battery was bought 4 or 5 months ago. I removed the starter and took it to Autozone to be tested, Starter passed test, three times (test included checking solenoid). Now I do not know how well this little test works and wether it could find a small problem with the starter. I also checked and sanded the battery terminals and cable connections to make sure I had a good connection. So what am I missing? I'm still thinking it's the starter, do any of you have and idea? Thanks!!!

i have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 5.2 which has about 58k miles. it seemed the truck wasnt getting as good gas mileage as it was when i bought it so i did a tune up on it and when i put new spark plugs in, i got better mileage but a slightly rough idle, anything i did wrong or that i can do to give it a smooth idle? it still has the same plug wires but they look new and the truck always idle'd smooth until i changed the plugs.

Dad gave me a 1989 Dodge Xplorer. I've never owned a motor home and know a minimal amount to maintain it. I let the generator go too long without cranking it on, and now it won't kick over. It acts like it WANTS to start, just won't quite get there.

The battery is good (charged it overnight from outlet on my house) and there is enough gas in the tank. Help a girl out, would ya?
Thanks!

Okay just about a month ago, I went to Sears and got a brake inspection by one of their brake specialist mechanics. He put my car in the air, I was looking at the bottom of it he checked every part of my brakes, showed me everything. And he said all I needed was two rear wheel cylinders (calibers). The mechanic out them on for me and told me everything else (brake pads, tie rods, ball joints, drums, rotors, etc.) was good and in good shape. So now two months later, I am wondering how can I tell if my brake pads are low, my brake pedal is going a little too far to the floor, but he showed me and my dad my brake pads and the leather on them were pretty thick. So I am wondering if my pads are thick why is my brake pedal still going too far to the ground? The car stops fine tho'

There is a whistling sound when I'm driving & not using my breaks. But I hear that you need to take it to get fixed immediately if you hear a grinding noise, which means you are messing your rotors up? But that's not the kind of noise I hear. It does sound like something is rubbing up against something that it shouldn't be. And it is really loud. But it doesn't sound like metal rubbing against metal. I don't have enough money to take it someplace & get fixed. If I can wait a week & then drive 2 hours to my dad's house, he'll replace the break pads. But is it safe for me to drive on for a week & will it be safe to drive the 2 hours it takes me to get to my parents?

My car is a 1995 Ford Taurus. I know it is the tank and not just a gasline, a mechanic checked it for me. My son is having surgery this month and I cannot afford to spend a fortune on my car right now.
Thanks for the answers

Since i didn't so the oil change at the dealer, they didn't reset the light. Is there a way I can do it myself? This car automatically turns on this light as a reminder to get your oil change every 5000 (according the manual). PLEASE help, the little light is driving me crazy!

I have a friend that says it would be a case of just repacking it with grease as long as there are no holes in the boot and reconnecting it, or if there are he says just replace the entire axel, any suggestions or concerns?

This is a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus, and the squealing is not necessarily constent. When first starting to move, the noise doesn't start but then it begins and will continue most of the time, but again not all the time.

I have a 91 accord. When I'm in reverse its fine, but when I put it in D4 and try to accelerate, its like I'm pulling an elephant. it takes me forever to get going, then once I get some speed up its ok. like its not shifting gears. Also I have this sport shifter thing, and it is flashing, but I never hit the switch. I've heard this may be a bad catalytic converter, but I don't know.
