Yesterday i blew out a tire on my car, with a HUGE hole. I accidently ran over a curb because i wasnt paying attention and my tire just basically popped. now i'm trying to figure out if it popped because of the curb, or maybe there was something in the road that punctured it.

I have a 95 Mitsubishi Galant that I use for work.

It has been having issues with it stumbling while I accelerate for a little while now. But now it will barely accelerate at all.

The plugs, wires and air filter are 2 months old, the cap and rotor I replaced yesterday, along with the fuel filter.

I can hear the fuel pump working before I turn the key to start the car.

Tried some commercial Injector cleaner on a whim, nothing.

I checked the wires for arcing, but saw no signs.

The car idles fine, 90% of the time. Sometimes it drops about 400RPM and sputters but jumps right back to about a 1000Rpm idle.

It used to be that it would simply stumble at lower RPM's but when I got it above 2k it would smooth out and accelerate just fine. But now, I can barely drive the thing.

Any suggestions on what I should check next?

I am going to check the coil and injectors... but I wanted a little more input as to what else the issue could be.

Thanks in advance.

Another assumption is that the car would be driven pretty constantly with a 50/50 mix of highway/city driving.

I bought a cheap Honda Civic as my first car a few months ago with 137k miles. I've been noticing that it doesn't accelerate as much as it should and sometimes the gears dont catch. Will a tuneup fix this and how much does a tuneup cost? If not, what can I do.

We had a 1993 Saturn a couple of years ago. It was excellent on gas (about 500 miles on full), had enough room for my kids, and drove awesome.
Problem: Started burning oil, the oil started leaking out of the valve cover, the O2 went out, and ultimately died for good, even despite our best efforts to save it.
My husband speaks of the car as a curse...he changed the valve cover two times, the gasket 6 times....you get the picture. He was not impressed.
I want to get a Saturn again because everything we have driven since then has not measured up to the ride and the gas consumption. He refuses to get tangled in another one...
If you know of a reliable one with good reviews, it would help my case...
Absolutely nothing with DOHC as he believes this is the problem...
Also, if there is really no such thing as a good Saturn, maybe you could reccomend a vehicle with good gas mileage, nice ride etc that does not cost too much...

We have a 1992 Ford Explorer.
It has a V-6 in it if that matters, but here is my question.
Since we got it, if we towed anything, even a little trailor, it would surge from cool to hot and die. At one point, when stopped after doing this, the antifreeze was just blowing every wich way out of the overflow tank.
My husband thinks that the heads are warped because of it getting so hot, but he is being second guessed by his brother saying that the Explorer is worthless and he is offering to take it off of our hands.
I do not trust my brother in law any further than I can toss him when it comes to cars as he is always out to make a profit...
What could be wrong with the Explorer to be causing this and is it reletively cheap to fix?
**As of the last time it was run a couple weeks ago, the exhaust was burning water and letting it out through the tail pipe. There are no "leaks" anywhere in the hoses...
Please help.

1996 Chevy Lumina sedan won't start at times. It's not the battery, there is power, and it's not out of gas. It seems to be something to do with the security device in the key, as though the security system is not reading it. Sometimes it will start fine, and other times it won't start for weeks. It seems to be a common problem with these vehicles, any simple fix?

I have a 1997 Toyota Camry LE with 120,000 miles and recently when I step on the gas pedal it putts and takes a while to get up to speed. Also, when it's idling it sounds like the car is going to die. I don't know if I need a fuel filter or a tune up. I have not had a tune up since I got the car last year and I don't know when the previous owner last got one, I have put on about 20,000 miles since. I have limited funds and I'm hoping whatever it is doesn't cost too much. Please help!
