1999 toyota camary with a 5F-SE 2.2 or 2.0(cant remember) 4 cyl. will run like brand new until whenever it feels like it it will just die. Might run for 5 minutes or 2 hours and just like that it will shut off. Now heres the big problem, after it shuts off sometimes it will start right back up and other times it will crank over but wont start. Now when it wont start, but will crank over, it has 50lbs. fuel pressure, spark at the plugs, and the injectors are pulsing from the computer. have installed new crank sensor, cam sensor, wires,plugs,O2 sensor, fuel filter. The only thing I have noticed is when there is a no start the injector pulse has a wider band on the scope. When it starts the pulse are closer together. Please only serious answers only, this thing has already drove me insane.

I drive a 2005 Dodge Caravan and lately I've been hearing a noise while I'm driving. It almost seems to be the actual noise from the tire as it turns. The sounds a little metalic. I can also feel my foot hit something if I apply too much pressure when i brake. What could these things be?

Our 1996 Dodge Carvan has started to smell like gasoline after it has been driven (and after it sits for a while). There appears to be no gas leaking onto the floor of the garage, and the fuel is not running low. This gas smell is not present all of the time, but it can be rather strong when it is present. What would cause this type of smell?

I have a '97 Chevy Lumina with a gas gage indicating that my fuel is always full, even if I am close to empty. Sometimes the gage will fluctuate a little. Is it the sender wire, where is that located, and how do I fix it?

If I am going out of town, I just start the car and then drive off with very little warm up; just let it run 15-20 seconds to let the oil reach the valves and go on down the road without exceeding maybe 2,800-3,000 RPM until the engine reaches normal operating temperature.

My problem is, I live 1.3 miles from work. Even in the summer time, the temperature needle has barely nudged up off the pin by the time I arrive. I drive home at lunch time, back again and then home at the end of the day. I do this 4 days a week.

I will generally drive somewhere else 2-3 times a week, meaning I drive long enough to at least warm up the engine a couple of times and I probably drive at least 15-20-30 miles out of town another time.

I am concerned about the long-term impact of driving so much without warming up the engine. Am I doing any harm? Is there any way to prevent this or at least minimize the impact of this type of driving?

I am driving a 2007 Subaru with a 6-cylinder engine.

I went to start my car it struggled to start. Drove it to where I needed to go and when I went to start it again a few minutes later, nothing. I turned the key over and all the lights on the dash lit up and the battery connections are fine but there was no sound. No clicking or anything else. I had the alternator replaced about 5 months ago and also replace the battery with a brand new one at the same time. What could be the problem?
