she obv didn't, like, stick it IN the ignition, but i was wondering if she did any damage by wiping the outside with a wet wipe? i just want to check since it IS a brand new car...
thanks for the input!
(btw, for those wondering, she's 8 ...didn't really know what she's doing. - funny thing she did in hindsight? haha.)

Even if she'd stuck it into the slot, it's still very unlikely that it would harm anything. Your key slot isn't itself an electrical switch; in most cases it's the mechanical lever that turns the actual switch further away. Getting a little bit of moisture into it won't hurt anything.

i own a repair shop ,and shes not hurt anything on it,as long as you can still get the key in it to start it,its alright, and as far as everything else it wont hurt the paint on it either, you have a very energetic little girl, she is helping you take care of the new car pretty good sounds like, but it will be alright, good luck with it,i hope this helps.

Check to make sure a piece of the clothe did not get lodged inside the ignition.

i don't think she did any damage the only thing that's in the ignition is tumblers i think the only thing it might stick a little. if messed up take it to the dealership tell them whats wrong don't tell them the truth might mess up the warranty .

she didn't hurt anything as long as your key goes in and the car starts.
