I just bought a new Chevy truck. How often should I change the oil during the first year. Any other precautions with a new engine that I should be aware of?

so my ABS and BRAKE lights come on at times when is start my car.. and no the CHECK engine light came on as well.. so i made an appointment and have it checked out.. did.. and i found out my front brakes are worn out.. my back needs adjusting.. and my intake valves or something with valve is clogged with carbon..

so a cleaning of the engine area and replace/aligning brakes.. how much would it cost to be fixed at the dealer?...

$865 after tax.. is what imma about to pay.. would it be cheaper to get it it fixed at a "corner autoshop/garage" or at the dealer?..

I bought a Bosch O2 sensor that is o.e. and not universal. I was told by an auto tech that it is under one of the seats. Would I need any special tools? To me it seems I just need to unscrew the old one and disconnect the wire. The same to install.

Ok so when i start the car in the morning it starts to make that clicking noise for about 2 seconds and than it goes away. Sometimes the nosie doesnt go away even if the car is warm this noise sounds like its coming from the motor, but yet it has no effect on the motors performance i ve had this noise on and off for about half a year now. i took it to the mechanic once and he said that the motor is done and its going to heavan lol, and that was about 3 months ago and the motor is still working fine . is it possible that the starter is faulty and it doesnt disengage and the noise would be coming from the starter?

The mechanic said that it is normal and that I need to wait about a week for carbon to build up, but it will never be as quiet as OEM. What do you think?

I took my 2001 Ford Taurus to Advantage Ford in Stuart, FL on 11/11/06 (103,000 miles) for service. They recommended a Brake Flush ($90) and a Transmission Flush ($137). I took it in again on 2/13/07 (114,176 miles) for service to the air conditioner and an oil change and again, they recommended another Brake Flush ($90) and another Transmission Flush ($140). I didn't realize they had just done these two things in November until I got home and looked at my prior invoice. So, what do you think? Is it conceivable that this might have been necessary? Is it normal to do these things at such regular intervals? Or, did they just pad the bill with unnecessary work? Thanks in advance for your advice and knowledge in an area I don’t know much about.

After driving on the highway for about 20 min.in cold weather the accelerator sticks and I have to put it in nuetral and then the engine revs up. My mechanic drove it around town and it didn't happen to him so he didn't know what to do. He also said it's very difficult to reach the throttle in my car. I think I need to take him on a drive on the highway for a longer time. Any ideas what I should do? I have a feeling this is going to cost me big time.
