My manual shows it on the passenger side of the engine. Just behind and below just forward and off to the side of the distributor.

Coolant temperature sensors for these v8 engines are generally on the intake manifold, passenger side. Remember if you remove this, there will be coolant leaking from the hole until the coolant level leaks down to the level of the intake manifold. Very dangerous to remove with a hot engine. I would advise draining the coolant before removing the sensor. You can easily check this with a voltmeter without removal. The sensor has a variable resistance to ground depending upon the temperature of the coolant. Take the wire off the sensor and measure the resistance to ground from where the wire plugs into the sensor with a cold engine, then measure it again with the engine up to running temp. There should be a significant difference in the readings. You can leave the voltmeter hooked, up with the wires safely out of the way of any moving parts, and watch the resitance change. If there is no change, or if there is an open circuit, replace.
