Bring a teapot of warm water (doesn't have to be boiling) and a towel. Pour the water along the door frame until it melts the ice and frees the door. Then immediately use the towel to thoroughly dry the door so it doesn;t freeze when you close the door.

I had this same problem yesterday after an ice storm coated my car with a good 1/2" of ice. The local news advised to put a few bath towels in the microwave for a minute or so & then slap them on the door joints. They said hot water or hair dryers work, but can sometimes damage or even melt the door's seals.

if it is the lock frozen, put the key in and heat with flame. Key is aluminum and an excellent conductor of heat. It will thaw the frozen lock. If the seal around door is frozen try aerosol de-icer. Pour hot water around door and open while still hot. wipe seal to dry with rag saturated with WD40 this is a water displacer and will prevent it from freezing shut again for a bit

You have an old car? I don't know... Drove car on a lot of dusty roads? I don't know. Maybe you need to take the latches out and soak them in some kind of solvent, clean them really good with carb cleaner or BrakeClean or something and reapply clean oil, and reinstall

Pour warm water around the door seal areas. This will free it up and allow you to open the door.

since you only indicated door and not doors...have you tired the others? we had this problem with a 2 door and only 1 door would freeze...so I would get in from the other side and push on the door with my feet while my husband pulled on the door...it worked...when you park your car next time...face that door in the opposite direction ie...if its the drivers side door, then turn the car so that the passenger side is there now
