Remove ONE spark plug wire...Take pictures of what you have done.
Take it to a mechanic and tell him the car isn't running smoothly.
Do this until you find a mechanic that says...NO problem...Just a wire off....NO charge...

There are way more of us out here then unhonest mechanics. Most of the problems are not the mechanics but the shop foreman or owners.
Ask people with similar cars where they get their work done.
Talk to the people at the garage. If they talk down to you or try to use terms you don't understand look further.
If you are unsure about a garage ask at your local Chamber of Commerce if there have been complaints about that shop.

Good luck

My friend it dificult!, U need to ask for references, make questions about his experience and the kinds of costumer that he receive. U can look for his tool and instruments. Never give a hard work or a big job to a mechanic who u dont meet or u dont know how work, start with a small jobs... G luck

I did

It took years but he came recommended.

He is a Muslim and runs a wonderful little shop. His prices are low and he always goes a little beyond the expected.

Because every visit to him is a financial hardship, he is more than kind to me in that regard. I am often stunned it is so low.

So word of mouth worked for me.
