check your starter

Get a helper buddy and a volt meter. Sure the Battery is good? Have a head light or dome light on and if if goes out all the way when you turn the key the battery is dead. Check voltage at the starter. You can also take off the starter in to AutoZone and they will test it for free. Saying the "motor siezed up" and "all you can do it junk it" is a POOR answer. You check all the easy stuff first.

Ckeck all the leads are making contact or it may be a stuck starter motor stick the car in gear release the handbrake and gently rock the car back and forth if this doesn't work get a piece of wood put it on the starter and give it a whack with a hammer. If it still won't start joint the AA home recovery.

If battery is OK, the starter is your problem. It could be a slack wire on the starter motor. Check to see wires are tight. If tight, must be the starter motor itself. You can source a starter motor at a scrapyard for about £10-20. Should only take half hour to fit. So overall, might cost you £60 in total.

Hi.
if you have an immombiliser or alarm on the car it could be faulty. if you have a key fob with a button which unlocks the car doors make sure thats working & lock & unlock then try again...
OR it could be a lose wire on the battery to the starter motor. or the starter motor. you can givethe starter motor a little hit ,or rock the car in gear this kinda wakes up the starter motor. if it is an automatic make sure it is in park.

Good luck!

Turn the steering wheel slightly left and right as you turn the key to start, it may be in a bind cause by the way the wheel is turned when you parked the car. Its unlikely the key or switch has gone as if you just stopped. Attempt to spray some WD 40 into the lock next to the key, if frozen it will free up in a few minutes of time. Good luck and God bless you.

i own a repair shop, and you probably have a bad starter on it sometimes they,ll go out with out any warning at all,one thing you might try and do ,is check all the cables and make sure there good and clean on it,sometimes a bad or corroded cable will cause them to do this ,check it all the way down to the starter,it may just be a little loose on the starter causing this to happen, also make sure its all the way in park, sometimes they wont do anything if the shifter isn't locked all the way in,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Could be starter motor or its relay or its fuse that is defunct. Try fuse first. Then check, clean and tighten connections on starter motor and battery. If it still won't turn over get the services of a qualified mechanic.

If the battery is good and there is not even a clicking sound from the starter, then I would replace the starter solenoid. If it has a starter with the solenoid built in, then you will have to replace the whole starter.

Starter motor bendix or ignition relay. Bump or jump start the car, if its the starter motor this may free it off. Relays are contained in the fuse/relay box under the bonnet.
