Ok so when i start the car in the morning it starts to make that clicking noise for about 2 seconds and than it goes away. Sometimes the nosie doesnt go away even if the car is warm this noise sounds like its coming from the motor, but yet it has no effect on the motors performance i ve had this noise on and off for about half a year now. i took it to the mechanic once and he said that the motor is done and its going to heavan lol, and that was about 3 months ago and the motor is still working fine . is it possible that the starter is faulty and it doesnt disengage and the noise would be coming from the starter?

Sammy, It sounds kike a collapsed hydraulic lifter to me. With the motor running check buy putting the plastic end of a long screwdriver to your ear. Put the business end of the screwdriver on the valve cover. If the clicking sound is very distinct pull the valve cover and check for a loose push rod or rocker arm. That particular push rod leads to the hydraulic lifter that needs to be replaced.

sounds to me like its just a valve lifter.try putting some additive in your oil for lifters.cd2 is good.i used it before.but no if you drove it that long and its not getting any louder, then its probably nothing major.

not the starter..probably just valves.just make sure it has right amount or good oil...dont mess with it till it gets really bad...it could last for years.
