I asked that question because i was seeking home owners insurance with another company and they asked me that question. My electrical outlets in the house are 3 prong and when I looked in the panel box on the switches I saw that it said 120/240v I am not sure if that is what I should be looking at as far how much amps of power is coming in. I just wanted to know how what answer i would give the insurance agent as to what type of wiring was in the home. I may just call an electrician. Thanks for all the answers thus far.

1999 Jeep Cherokee with no oil pressure when warm or when idling?
when i start my Jeep the oil pressure is a little lower than normal, as it warms the pressure drops, eventually to zero and the check guages light comes on. When I accelerate the check guages light shuts off and the pressure rises slightly, only a little bit! I have plenty of oil, and I had it changed 3000 miles ago. What is my Jeeps problem?

Here is what happened: I took my car to a mechanic shop for repair of the breaks. They charged me for break inspection, In addition to, of course, the cost for fixing them. They gave me their business card, which had their web address on it. When I went to their website, I found out that they have said that break inspection is free. What should I do? I do not want to be rude or impolite to them.

I have a 96 Oldsmobile Achieva that just started overheating this week :( I turned the notch to "vent" the temp all the way up to hot and on full blast and that makes the gage go down to normal. My car says to use Dex-Cool but I know it causes a lot of problems. Does it really matter if I use regular anti freeze over Dex-Cool? I put regular antifreeze in may car once about 4 or 5 years ago and it didn't seem to hurt anything...

I drive a 1995 Pontiac Trans Port, and in the past 3 months, have had to put 3 alternators into it, and now the 3rd one has just gone as well.
When it is running, it runs great, but I can't seem to keep it running for very long. And I honestly don't think that it's the alternators that are the problem, because I have changed them.
What could be making them blow like that, and how can I get it fixed!

THANX!

My wife drove through water and flooded our 98 Dodge Grand Caravan. There was a large amount of water in the motor oil, and I changed it, but the engine is still knocking. I have replaced the spark plugs, and starter. I have also ensured that there is no water in the cylinders by turning the engine with all spark plugs removed. What else needs to be done?

I have just bought the above car as a local runabout. It has the following faults. 1) heater fan only works on full blast. 2) it leaks, drivers carpet wet in small patch so it mists up. 3) when driving along around 30mph, it misfires slightly but dosen't cut out, rev it up and it seems fine. I was looking for a Japanese car but needed a car fast, me thinks it is a lemon. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan and lately, it won't go into the right gear.. When it is in the right gear it makes a winding up noise and then it goes back down to first gear. My rpm's are usually at 300 anymore. I know it has something to do with the transmission but does anyone know what exactly it is and how do i fix it for little money?

Randomly my car, 2006 Saturn Ion, will not start. When I turn the key, all the accessories turn on but aboslutely no sound from the engine. It doesnt crank (I think thats the term) or anything. My radio, lights, and all other electronics work fine. I found that after approximately 10 minutes, the car will start up fine. I have an aftermarket stereo in my car, that is the only modification. This includes deck, speakers, and amplifiers. Any suggestions on things to check? I plan on taking it to the dealer, but I would like to use that as a last resort. The dealer screwed me over with a previous repair, so I am trying to diagnose the problem myself. Thank you!

My daughters car seems to be overheating it does have a known water problem however as to what the problem is i am hoping someone will be able to tell me The water pump was replaced before we bought it however it still seems that the water is not getting all around the engine as the bottom radiator hose and another hose seem empty although all the pipes do get hot . I have flushed the system but i cant seem to refill it fully there is nothing wrong with the colour of the oil as someone did suggest this would show a head gasket fault i really am not sure what else i can try i have heard you can get airlocks in the water system however there are no bleeder holes on any of the hoses so i don't know how to check this any advice will be appreciated

Yesterday I went around a bend in the road and it was extremely icy. My car lost control and slid across the road and my front left tire ran into a curb. I kind of bounced off and I just kept going for another 100 feet and then I decided to pull over and check it out. First I realized I had to hold my stearing wheel upside-down in order to drive straight. My rim looked scraped up but my tire wasn't flat. I turned my car off and realized I couldn't get it to start back up and the gears weren't working. What could this be?? Help please!

Will my engine benefit, be cleaner, since different companies have different additives/cleaners. I just wonder if by changing brands the stuff (sludge, etc.) a previous oil may have left will be cleaned out easier, or more consistently if I change brands.

Any ideas/experiences?
