Does anyone know how to disable the factory anti-theft circuit? I have had to pull the horn relay to avoid upsetting the neighbors. Is there a wire that can be removed to disable it entirely?

Also I really don't like the automatic door locking when you drive away. I believe there is some procedure you can do to disable that as well.

I was driving my 1990 Nissan Maxima with 101k miles, and it gradually lost power. I checked for spark and Im getting no spark, and 0 compression in all 6 cylinders. I pulled the timing belt cover and the belt turns with the key.
The engine is turning over, but wont spark. It us turning over very fast. Much faster than it usually does.
I had a spare maxima, and swapped over the distibutor and ignition coil and still no spark..
any ideas guys?

I lost power steering after my belt snapped on the highway. The mechanic said I had to replace the belt and the power steering pump on my 60,000 mile 2000 Mazda Protege since "the pulley wouldn't turn," as he showed me with the car lifted in the air and turned off. Can a power steering pump normally be turned in this situation or is this mechanic trying to take me for ride? Thank you.

All of the lights behind the gauges of my 1991 Chevy Corsica have burned out, which makes it hard to see how fast I'm going at night! I don't want to take it somewhere and pay someone to fix it. How can I figure out how to get to the bulbs and what bulbs do I need? The owner's manual was no help. Please help me out with instructions or somewhere on the web that I can find them.

i have a 92 chevy g20 van witha 5.7liter v8. i have the opportunity to get a 5.3 liter vortec with tranny ecu, wiring harness ect. and i was wondering would this bolt in where the 350 rests now ? and if so , will the tranny length be the same ? if not what is needed ? i know id need a fuel pump as the new motor runs approx 60psi , where the 350 runs at like 6-9 psi , and electric fans, my question is fitment, all running aspects aside, will it bolt in with exsisting motor mounts ? is the tailshaft of the tranny the same in length to meet the driveshaft ? i know there the same spline. any and all help is greatly appreciated, i need no opinions, jus facts. thanks again , and i look forward to hearing from you !

well at first i thought the problem was from driving the car cold, but now its been happening after driving the car for an hour or so, but what happens is my RPM's stay stuck over 1,000 after coming to a complete stop. i can hear the engine working and trying to lurch forward even though im at a complete stop. also i noticed if i put the car into park while it is in this state, the RPM's fly all the way up to 3,000. any ideas as to what could be the problem?

We just bought a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee and when we are driving straight, the steering wheel turns the car to the right very slowly. We had alignment done 2 days ago, so that shouldn't be the problem. Is there any other reason why it would still pull to the right? since the alignment was done it's not as strong but it still pulls to the right. Please help.

I have a squealing noise on my 1999 Ram 1500 pick up when the voltage drops and/or there is a load on the battery (i.e when the fan motor is on high or when I am plowing snow...). When the volt meter shows the battery to be fully charges ther is no squeal at all. I changed the alternator thinking it was a charging problem but it dod not help. Any thoughts?

Thanks

I brought it to diagnostic testing and all it said was that there was a misfire in cylinder 2. It was hesitating a lot and the check engine light would go off and on once in a while now its always on and blinks constantly. Today I heard a loud banging like sound like somehting is knocking around. It is not overheating though. It almost seems like an edxhaust issue but I dont know what to do. I am broke and cant afford to pay for diagnosis again. I would just like to know what i am in for. Please help?

It is completely empty. The guys at Autozone gave me 3 quarts or "Automatic Transmission fluid D/M" and said that should be enough if not too much.

Is it too much? Do I add it while the car is running? Do I just pour it into where the dipstick is?

I know nothing about cars , maybe shade tree stuff..
the only reason I ask is mine still has the generator and not an alternator , so does that mean its 6 volt , or where there 12 volt generators in 1959.

I have a 2000 Suzuki Vitara (Chevy Tracker), and have been having issues with what I believe are the synchros for the first to second and second to third. When down shifting over 15mph 3rd to 2nd will grind everytime. But, even when I am completely stopped, and the clutch is to the floor it is still hard to put into any gear, and reverse will grind, as if the clutch isnt fully disengaging. Slave cylinder perhaps? Or both?
The grinding reverse gear is what really throws me off, as the input shaft shouldn't be turning at all with the clutch to the floor. Would a ever so slightly engaged clutch cause for slight grinding in the 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st selection?
When forward shifting from 1-2 I can also make it grind slightly if I shift above 3000rpm without letting the rpm fall down as much as I otherwise do.
I appreciate any advice.

-Zach
