All of the lights behind the gauges of my 1991 Chevy Corsica have burned out, which makes it hard to see how fast I'm going at night! I don't want to take it somewhere and pay someone to fix it. How can I figure out how to get to the bulbs and what bulbs do I need? The owner's manual was no help. Please help me out with instructions or somewhere on the web that I can find them.

You will need to try to find some trim pieces that pop off or something on the dash, exposing some hidden screws. Look under the dash for some screws and inside the gauge area (where it kind of goes in and theres the plastic covering the gauges) maybe theres some screws in there.

I just happened to take the gauge cluster out of my 94 eagle talon tonight and i think i removed 8 screws to get the whole thing apart.
usually when replacing bulbs in the gauge cluster you have to take apart the dash slightly to get the gauge cluster out of the car. Then you should be able to get the bulb changed.

If your not sure what your doing i might suggest you take it to someone who won't rip you off- a shop will charge an arm and a leg. Ask a family member or friend.

If you savvy at all and kind of know a thing or two about taking things apart, then go ahead. Other wise i might take it to someone.

Hope that helps!

I don't know what car you have, but you'll need specific tools required for unscrewing hidden screws in the general area of the dashboard.

This is not a fast procedure, by the way.

They sell manuals for your car at the local PepBoys. They're usually around the counter where you pay. These books have diagrams with drawings and instructions.

PS: Be careful when you go in the dash.. don't disconnect the mileage-counter. If you ever resell that car and someone notices something screwy you could get into trouble if they thought you were trying to do that.

Good Luck

The easiest way is to first remove the motor and transmission. Then remove the frame from the body. Then turn the body upside down and cut a big hole in the firewall behind the dash. Pull out all the behind-the-dash wiring. Then you should be able to find the bulbs. Hire a neighbor kid with small hands to dig them out for you. That's the easiest way.

i own a repair shop, and first off check the fuse for them,it may have blown ,always check that before you have to pull the dash out,if it comes to it,you,ll have to remove all the trim screws that hold it in,and remove the trim, then remove the 4 screws that old the main dash unit in,and when you start to pull it out, there's a wiring harness on the back of it that has to be disconnected, then finish removing it,but be sure and check, all the fuses for it first, most of the time it is a blown fuse, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

in case you recognize you want an oil change and performance no clue what the gentle is all about, why do not you regulate the oil first, in doing that, a minimum of you recognize between the accessible situation has been dealt with. If the gentle comes on again, have a sturdy check out it, provide us a more desirable sensible description to work out if we may be able to parent out what it really is.
