Some newer washers don't have a belt. They use direct drive couplings to connect the motor to the transmission. Better call the local Appliance Parts place and ask what it has.

If the Belt is broken, take it with You to get a New One, if You haven't already. Now, this is Important. To put the new Belt on, You'll have to loosen the Bolt[s] that secure the Motor to an adjustable Tension Bracket. Before You do that, somehow, Mark the Bracket that the Motor is attached to so that You can put it back to the same Spot. You don't Tighten it real Tight, like You would a Fan Belt on a Car. There has to be some "Slack" so that when the Tub is full of Water, it won't Spin real Fast, at First. I found out the Hard way ! What will Happen if it's too Tight is that Water will slosh out of the Tub, all over the Floor ! You don't want it so loose that the Belt will fall off, though. If this all sounds a little too Complicated, a Local Appliance Repair Shop might be able to Sell You a General Appliance Repair Manual for about $ 12 . Hope this Helps !

That is a very very nasty job to do. You will need to take loose those 4 or 5 bolts that suspend the entire gear box assembly. Then slip that seperate the clutch assembly with a prybar to about 1/2 inch. Then slip that belt thru that small opening and reassemble the thing.

BE SURE TO BUY A BELT FOR A WASHING MACHINE FROM AN APPLIANCE DEALER THAT IS EXACT REPLACEMENT. An ordinary belt from a hardware store or auto store will fail on you in a matter of weeks, and all that work to get it in will be lost and you will have to do that messy job over.
